Remember last year in T-town, when Bama came away feeling like they'd let one slip away and that the better team didn't win? Well, you've returned the favor because that's exactly how we feel this year. Too bad we won't get a do over, like you did. If the only goal of the BCS is to put the top 2 teams in the championship game, then indeed we should get our do-over too because the best 2 teams in college football were on that field last night.
Hehe, I guess I don't really expect you to root for Bama. I think I realize how hard that would be. Or rather, impossible. Also all the loud Bama fans you'd have to listen to during the offseason running their mouth... yeah, I wouldn't really want that either. Regardless, amazing game and I can still hardly believe the outcome. Look forward to next year.
2011 was much like 2007 for the Tigers, the perfect storm. We were fortunate to get a do over. I stated all along that if we didn't end up in New Orleans, it was Bama's own fault. We didn't take care of business. What happened was Okie lite didn't take care of their business as well, so it was on. Alabama vs LSU rematch won't get it this time around, but the rivalry has grabbed the nation's attention once again. This rivalry, being this fierce and competitive is guaranteeing that both schools keep developing, constantly striving to beat the other. It's helping beat other teams as well. That's not a bad thing.
I know its all water under the bridge and none of it matters now, but I thought Ok St. got an unfair shake last year. Like you, their only loss was in OT, but their loss was on the road in (double) OT while yours was at home. Also, it was on the heels of them hearing about the deaths of their women's basketball coach and an assistant in a plane crash just a day or 2 before the game. The being the 2nd fatal plane crash in their schools history. That had to be on their minds, especially if they themselves were flying to/from the game, yet no one seemed to take that into consideration.
Well the reason being is that they had a good first half and a bad second half (which easily could be that the mental exhaustion finally set in) and they lost against a bad team whereas Bama got a good team in us. I agree with you, I also see how the argument was made for the rematch. Also Bama was the second best team in the nation last year (yes we were better even with the NC game bed shitting)
You should think of it as perceptive, chief. Now a lot of people are saying it. Tide is No. 1, but aura of invincibility takes hit
"There never was a horse that couldn't be rode, or a man that couldn't be throwed." Championship teams won't be around long relying on their "aura."
