This was indeed, GROWN MAN FOOTBALL! To say LSU played hard, efficiently, throughout the second half and played well enough to win, should not be patronizing to any here. It was a wild and crazy game to watch. The crowd was jacked. I have no idea where that Mett came from and even more startling was the way the receivers went from the perpetual oops, to snag city. An offensive line with 2 freshmen on the right side and still dominating the line of scrimmage and it's enough to make an opponent think it just ain't to be. LSU proved again to be a worthy opponent and then some. For all those wondering if Alabama has it in them, wonder no more. In a avalanche of second half momentum that would swallow most accomplished teams, Bama spent 43 seconds of do or die, to run itself back into the quest for another SEC and NC season. It was a gut check for every player in crimson. It told me that this team, as young as they may be, have a championship mettle about them. Trying to break the game down, frame by frame, seems like a exercise in futility. A win in Baton Rouge on a Saturday night, in the wild, wild, west, is all that matters most.
On the contrary, if I'm Bama I'm concerned about what that game exposed defensively. An offense that has been frankly pathetic for most of the year, with WR's and a QB who have often played poorly, with a makeshift OL in pass protection, gashed the Bama secondary repeatedly, with several blown coverages. Bama is not invulnerable, not by a long shot.
Tusk you have tried to be graceful and for that you get credit. I imagine you don't want to break the game down because you would have to admit LSU dominated 58 minutes of the game and exposed the tide as lsudolemite noted. Little Nickey had better get moving or your team will be the one remembered for breaking the SEC's hold on NCs. As I told you the tide had not been tested and last night except for the last 2 minutes of each half they were found wanting. Congratulations to your team for the win but to steal one of Barret Jones phrases, we look forward to putting things back in their proper order next year.
First real test the gumps have faced all year and they barely survived. Imagine if our oline was still intact or we hadn't lost two of our best four linebackers and our best running back. Bammer is in trouble if they get past Georgia and play in the BCSNCG.
Was a good game. I could say we were out coached bc we certainly weren't outplayed but that wasn't it. We screwed the pooch on this one and should have gotten points and field position rendering this one out of reach. Alas, twas not the case. Maybe Johnny football can finish the job. Good luck the rest of the way. I suppose. And tell that mccarron fella to midol up.
Bamas good and will steamroll any mark richt team. He's soft as is his team. Although always super talented.
I don't think anyone else will challenge Bama. LSU might be one of the only teams who can stand toe to toe with Bama physically and mentally. I bet the Tide wouldn't want a second game this year.
