Environment Solar best bet forward??

    Just go back and run the numbers my friend. I didn't say it was for nothing, I said the payback without large government subsidy is 30 years. It costs between $30,000 and $50,000 to put a large solar installation on a house. As I said you get average of 5 hours of sun strong enough to provide sufficient power. You buy electricity for 19 hours there isn't any sun.
    FYI Louisiana had a $25,000 subsidy for solar. That would have make it worthwhile to an individual but it has expired. The figures I cite are real numbers. I worked for Hyundai one of the largest solar panel providers in the world and we worked with a construction company attempting to do just that. Without the state subsidy it just isn't worth it.
    If you want to pay 5-6 times what you do now for power and have a less reliable power supply then keep believing. I prefer to stick to the facts backed up by good engineering.
