What made you into a Tiger fan?
Being born in Baton rouge, the family is what started it but watching the games and the watchin the Bluegrass Miracle when I was about 12 made me a die hard to the end LSU fan.

When and how long you been a tiger fan?
I would have to say at birth when LSU was all around me. The day I was born Mens Basketball beat auburn and all my family was watching it before I was delivered.

How passionate are ya, or are ya just the casual fan?
VERY passionate. I was in Navy boot camp in AUG 09-OCT 09. On one of our last days we were allowed to phone our familes and watch TVfor about 2 hours. By the grace of God it was a saturday and LSU and UGA were playing. I phoned my mom talked to her for 2 minutes, told her I was doing good etc. And watched the game the rest of my time.

How deep do ya bleed P & G, what sports do ya crave?
I would have to say football is number 1. I follow baseball and basketball are close behind but there is some separation. I watched us win the Bassmasters college classic last year? Year before? :thumb:

Have ya been loyal, even in the down decades?
I was born in 90 so I am a youngin but I have supported them even through games we have lost. I went to the SEC championship in 05 I believe. ( I grew up in ATL). We lost that game to UGA in a ugly fashion. I still held my head high after that loss and all others.

i was talking to a friend from hs this past saturday. he lives in cali now (ucla fan) but is still a die hard ou fan. he was at the nc game in the dome on 03. his words to me were "y'all have the best fan base in all of college football".

i was kinda surprised at first because of all the bitching and moaning from ou fans about how they were supposedly treated. but it was that, which made him say that. he said he was tiger baited incessantly. but that he just laughed it off, and tiger fans were good to him and the spirit of it all was great. he said those that got all upset about being tiger baited were made miserable with it. (again, backing everything i have heard about that game. it just depended on how ou fans took to being taunted that determined their experience.)

he said we are rabid and loyal, but all in good fun. and that, to him, is how college football fans should be. it was good to hear that from a gooner fan.

What made you into a Tiger fan?

When I was going through the college selection process, I put LSU on the list really only because of the band scholarship. Made my first visit and immediately fell in love.

When and how long ya been a Tiger fan?

    First visit to campus, 1998.

How passionate are ya, or are ya just the casual fan?

Pretty passionate. I was in Tiger Band and will forever treasure the memories of marching down the hill and onto the field for pregame. I've been to tons of football, baseball, and basketball games, both as a participant and purely as a spectator. I try to make at least a few events every year.

How deep do ya bleed P & G, what sports do ya crave?

Football 1st and baseball 2nd, as those were the sports I played growing up. I like to watch LSU basketball, too, but I've just never been much of a basketball fan.

Have ya been loyal, even in the down decades?

Thankfully, I haven't had to endure a down decade in my 13 years of fandom.

Seeing the intense focus and passion of my father watching LSU football games on TV when I was a little kid and his random shouts of "Dalton, Dalton, look at him geaux. That kid is special". Naturally, Dalton became my initial favorite player with my first game against Wichita St. in '85.

My dad used to take my mom to the bigger games and me to the others and I thought I was good luck because they won the 1st 12 games I attended (tied the 13th against Ohio St. 13-13). Later, I realized they won all of those games because they were easier opponents. Around the 7th game that I attended, both of my parents went and LSU was heavily favored against Kentucky but struggled. My mom went to the bathroom during the 4th quarter and LSU scored a TD to take the lead. She came back up and Kentucky immmediately had a big play on offense. After we joked that she was bad luck, she went back and "hid" until the game was over and LSU had the W.

I went to LSU in the late 90's and became even more delusional (or passionate depending on your preferred label).

Think I remember that '86 game against A&M if it was the one that Sancho rushed the QB, hit the ball up in the air to himself, and returned it for a TD. I was roughly the same age as you.

I definitely remember the UGA game in '98. 21-21 tie at the half. UGA's only TD of the 2nd half was a pass to the back of the endzone that looked like it would be an INT to Ryan Clark but the UGA WR stepped in front. Dinardo got some criticism for kicking a FG with a few minutes left to cut it to 28-27. The Bulldogs ran out the clock with the help of a pass from Quincy Carter to Champ Bailey while Bailey was lying flat on his back.

First let me say i didnt go to LSU. But i have been an LSU fan since the age of 3 in 1964.

I consider it one of the greatest gifts God has given me in my life along with my family. And i consider LSU fans my family.

My dad was a La. high school football coach when i was growing up and with my brother (1 year older ) we spent our whole life around sports. I grew up on the football field and have always been able to really throw the football. I just wasnt given any size. But sports are to this day an important part of my life.

As for LSU in the 60's my dad, brother, and me used to all lay in front of our console stereo and listen to LSU football games with John Ferguson . We loved and still do Charley Mac. He will always have a place for me in LSU memories.

My favorite player of all time is settled for all time and it will always be Tommy Casanova. I loved watching him play the game. The names of the past linger as i remember watching them play on T.V.

I know i cant remember all but some others there is Mike Anderson, Hokie Gujan, Charlie Alexander, Dalton Hilliard , Wendell James Britt , AJ Duhe , Carlos Carson, Bert Jones , Alan Faneca , Kevin Faulk , Matt Flynn , Kyle Williams, Marcus Spears, Brady James, Rohan Davey, It could go on and on..............

I consider Tiger Stadium hallowed ground. I live in California and i dont get to see many games in person but when i do it is special each and every time.

I have an LSU Room in my house ( Check MY Profile Picture album ) and i watch every LSU sport and pull for them in every one. I spoke about football but i love every LSU sport.`

I have a 45 record of Archie who at LSU that i still pull out and play.

I almost got in a fight at a golden st.warrior game when an USC fan said LSU sucked and i went off on him. He didnt realize that i am not bandwagon like him. I dont let anyone disrespect my Tigers.

I will love LSU for the rest of my life and with all the technology achievements i can see pretty much every LSU game i want. I am a member of LSUSPORTS.net and i live for LSU news.

Loving and pulling for LSU has been a priveledge to share with my family and brother and every phone call turns into an LSU strategy session. It is also a great gift to share on these forums with other LSU fans.

Thank you for making the LSU experience so enjoyable.

Looking forward to LSU season coming up and there is nothing like a Saturday Night in Tiger Stadium.

No i didnt go to LSU but i have been a Tiger my whole life and they have brought much joy into my life.

    Geaux Tigers

Since the late seventies when we moved to Baton Rouge so my dad could teach at LSU. Hate to say it but we moved from Auburn where I had been a slight AU fan for a few years. I was quickly turned to the Purple and Gold though.

Love this team and its fan base! Love the tailgaiting and excitement that builds up to the big SEC game almost every week. Love the campus and all the great places to hangout. Saturday nights in Tiger stadium are always special and sometimes magical (was at the Earthquake game, storm the field after beating #1 Florida, many more)

I have been a LSU Tiger fan thru the good times and the bad times. And to those who complain or are to young to remember, remember this.

    These are the good times!

How passionate am I about LSU?
