So who thinks we're actually running Gary Crowton's offense?

Do we have WRs? Are they supposed to be any good?

We don't know yet. Have to throw to them instead of the left tackle to find out.

btw? I don't know who's offense it is nor do I care. It sucks. At least twice last night we were in 3rd and # and we run a wr/te drag 3 to 4 yards short of the marker.

Posted this in another thread: I wll never be comfortable as long as CLM is on the sidelines and GC is calling the plays.

You miss the obvious point. NC expected us to attack their secondary because of the suspensions. Therefor they would be playing pass defense much tougher than usual. Thus the obvious thing to do from a coaching standpoint is to do what NC did not expect us to do, which is repeatedly run the ball and throw short passes. Football is all about doing what the enemy does not expect you to do.

I think when we see a fullback in the game, it's a Les scheme. Crowton almost never used a fullback before coming to LSU. Now, a power running game is handy in the SEC. The problem is that LSU does not have a decent fullback. Which is why I think we'll see more of Shepard in in the slot than a blocking fullback in the game. And we need a tailback (Ford?) who can get through the line without following a fullback

Russell Shepard should be in on EVERY damn play of this offense.

He should either directly get the ball in his hands or act as a decoy like we did with the pass over the middle to a wide open TE for 15 yards early in the game.

Anybody want to venture a guess as to how often we utilized Shepard in the 2nd half (directly or decoy)? Hopefully someone has some stats on that. My guess is less than 25 percent.
