So who thinks we're actually running Gary Crowton's offense?

Don't think so. If anything, I think he just recently signed an extension. Don't know how long.

That ain't good. If Les really wanted him gone but Alleva was just being a cheapskate, then I don't see why we'd offer him an extension.

Upon further review, let me modify my post about Crowton. He got a $50k raise, not sure about the contract extension. Perhaps red or someone else in the know can confirm or deny the contract extension.

Are you talking about the raise he got after the 2008 season? Or did he get another one after 2009?

Anyone who has seen Crowton at La. Tech, Oregon, BYU knows that this is not Crowtons offense. It's bits and pieces of his offense.

from what i have heard, it is the raise after the 08 season. no 09 raise. and i think his buyout may drop considerably this season, but not sure. bhelm might have more info on that.

but everything i heard was that it was alleva who squashed any thoughts of getting rid of crowton because of the raise, buyout, and how it would look to spend that kind of money when the academic side of the university is on a slash and burn mission with budgets.

but no matter whose offense it is, it is up to miles to see that it gets changed if it needs to be changed.

edit to add: that goes for any aspect of the game. miles doesnt have to say how something be changed, but to let his asst coaches know what aspects of the game he wants to see changes in and then let them do it.

i cant believe anyone with any brain activity can even question this. LSU employee hanagriff grudgingly admitted hes been at practice and this is the case. although i didnt need him to admit it for me to realize it.

who do you think shut them down completely in the 2nd half? it certainly wasnt gonzo or crowton.

    or unc for that matter.

I questioned it then and I question it now. Why did Miles hire a guy to run an offense he has never run in his life? It was the wrong hire. He should have been hiring a guy who is adept at running the offense Miles wants to run. It was foolish to expect a spread guy to change late in his career to a balanced attack guy. Thats not what Crowton is or ever has been. This is Miles offense, not Crowtons.

who knows why he does half the things he does.

this team can still be very good though in spite of the glaring problems.

if we let the boys loose on offense this team can wreak havoc on any defense.

but we must unleash the beasts. with blackwell out hopefully the grind it out theory is minimized.

although i do think in order to win a NC you have to be able to grind it out. but this team is likely not going to the NC game so lets just light up the scoreboard the easiest way possible.
