There is only one thing I fear in the SEC west. I dont admit it in public, but just the thought of it scares the bejeebus outta me.

Exactly. And there's nothing wrong with that, either. Not everyone who plays is going to be that guy. We don't need to pretend like he's a star just waiting for his time. We don't have to pretend like he's a great player just because he's a Tiger. He is clearly not SEC starting QB material, so he will be a backup. If he is happy with that, I am happy to have him on the sideline. If he wants to play elsewhere, I encourage him to transfer. Just don't put him behind center in a Tiger uniform in a pivotal moment or a crucial game - that I am not OK with.

I would also like to add that game was won if the defence would have held up. JJ would have been 2-0 I know shoulda woulda coulda.

A damn fool comparison. The only freshmen starters on this list are Lee and Jefferson. Some of those other guys had three or four years experience on the team and PT under their belt.

Why? Because you say so? He doesn't have "it". Now it's all clear! :insane:

I think that's a damn fool remark, for damn fool sure.

No, that remark was from one of the other Lee haters. I should have put it in another paragraph. No offense intended.

I've never called for Lee to start, don't put words in my mouth. I objected to his brusque dismissal as a legitimate quarterback. He can play and we may need him this year.

So, you didn't know that Lee was better in almost every other category, eh? That was my point. Reading defenses is coachable. What is not coachable is an arm and Lee has one.

It's 2009, not 2008. Tell me why you think that it is impossible for Lee to be a better quarterback this year? Tell me why you think it is impossible for Jefferson to lose some games or throw interceptions this year.

Likewise Lee if the defense hadn't given up 50 points to Florida.

Look guys, I'm a big Jordan Jefferson fan and I would start him too. But it is just sad that Lee has to take all of this silly crap from Tiger fans. It's bad enough how he gets ridiculed badly on rival boards. I'd love to see him get a chance to make them eat their words some day. Meanwhile we need his depth and I bet he would really appreciate some support from football-smart Tiger fans.

I think the number of Tiger fans that want Jarrett Lee off the field for any and all circumstances is pretty low. We just happen to have opinions on what degree of success he will have at LSU. Some think he has the ability to start if given the situation or opportunity, and some, like me, think he simply isn't cut out to be a starter in this league and is better suited for the role he will apparently have as a backup. I'd love nothing more than for Lee to prove me wrong and have a breakout season. That's a plate of crow I'd happily eat, because I want all our Tigers who work hard and play by the rules to be successful. All we have to go by is a single season to evaluate these guys, and that just ain't enough time, so up to this point predicting what happens next season is anyone's guess. But we can all have a difference of opinion without calling out each other for their position.
