In Les Miles, we could be looking at the next Charlie Mac. Good coach, devoted to LSU, good man, liked by his players. Cept, Les has a crystal already. I like Les.
They've been back since June 4. He went to visit the U.S. Troops in the Middle East as part of a group with six other college football coaches: Rick Neuheisel (UCLA), Jim Tressel (Ohio State), Jim Grobe (Wake Forest), Troy Calhoun (Air Force), Houston Nutt (Ole Miss) and Tommy Tuberville (previously with Auburn).
Mitchell said something to the effect of: "I'm so happy that I've had the privilege of attending such an incredible school, like LSU."
He was with Rick Barnes. I wouldn't show up either if I knew my university would get their @sses whupped. :hihi: :LSU231:
The play by play announcers were frequently mentioning the fact that Miles was Twittering during the game. Miles WAS having fun, sharing the experience with Manny, and those following him on Twitter. He took the time to tweet, "Manny Miles sharing dip in dots with me". Obviously, Miles was very comfortable in the crowd, enjoying watching the baseball team including the young men who played for him on the football team, and being genuinely pleased with their success and accomplishment in a sport other than football.:geaux:
Les is like the uncle we all WISH we had. His pride in the accomplishments of Jones and Mitchell was genuine - and obvious. Sure glad he stayed at LSU, and I hope this is his last stop. Looks like it is! :geaux:
ESPN said that Les would be there Tuesday During the Monday night game, Mike Patrick on ESPN was talking about the football team connections and said that Les would be coming in for the Tuesday night game. And sure enough, on Tuesday Les was there and like a true fan stayed for the final game on Wednesday too. If Mack was watching and listening on Monday night, he would have known that the LSU head coach would be there, so why didn't he hop a flight from Austin to Omaha and make an appearance, especially for the final game on Wednesday?
Re: ESPN said that Les would be there Tuesday Actually Miles did not stay overnight between the Tuesday and Wednesday night games. He flew home and back.
