I say utilize that speed (HOLIDAY) put him in and let him run to see where he's at, look at sproles what he's like 5-6/185 pounds you never know we might find, maybe a slasher, he's hard to see. It's worth a try thats all I'm saying but we have to watch out for those slanting defenses that shut down E-W running. :tigerhead
Obviously. They know more about the game than people who don't coach football for a living. You know more about what you do than the cashier at 7/11 does, don't you?
Running E-W wastes Holliday's speed if you ask me. He's a speedster, but he's not a jitterbug. He's been most successful when he gets past those first two headhunters and finds a seam inside, with nobody but a slow kicker that has an angle on him. When he goes wide, his speed gets him an extra ten yards. But if his moves or his blockers can protect him until the defense overruns him just a bit. . . he's gone like a flash straight between the hashmarks.
A lot of amateur golfers can't hit a driver or a long iron so they leave the club in the bag. You'll never master it if you don't practice it.
Actually what you described is an NFL qb's responsiblity. Most colleges minimize the presnap reads for their QB's most of them arent ready for multiple reads and then translating those reads into on field calls. Most will have a couple of must reads, where the saftey is, type of coverage. There is some degree of audible that goes on, but not nearly as much as the NFL where almost every play requires multiple pre snap reads. And Les doesnt strike me asthe type of coach who will allow a QB free reign over the offense. The spread in college football only requires two reads, the MLB and the DE. I think if JJ or almost any other 19 yr old QB were asked to read everything you described there would be multiple delay of games. Now I am not some expert but the amount of football I watch saturday and sunday does give me some expertise in this area.
