I'm not nearly as excited as I was for the 2009 class with RR, Shep and Loston, etc.

It looks like we're losing several good in-state kids - Robinson, Hill, etc.

However, we are getting players in positions we need - OL, DL and hopefully a quality QB.

This could be a great DL class.

Lastly, I'd like to sign 2 LB in the class.

I'm opposite, I'm really excited about this class.
We're getting two pro style QBS. We've been needing some stability, and I think Mettenburger will give it to us. Rivers can be groomed and given time which i love.

Hilliard is a manimal. The guy is a stud.MaGee is seriously underrated. The guy is going to be lightening. Losing Hill isn't that big of a deal. Remember, we still have hopefully Ridley next year, Ford, Ware, Blue, and Gore. RB isn't too big of a need.

Our offensive line will be extremely bolstered with serious size. We're getting one of the best LT to come out in a while. Collins is the next Oher. White is going to be a good RT or G. Austin and Turner come in as Guards and are HUGE. Plus we still have hurst shaw and faulk. O line will be a strength in coming years.

Jarvis Landry is one of the best catchers. The guy is like lance moore of the saints. You can always rely on him. Alonzo lewis has great size and should develop. Don't forget about Randle on the outside and Shep on the inside. Also, a lot of young WRs got playing time this year which will only help.

D line will be straight ridiculous. Freak will be the next Dorsey. Thomas will have time to develop. We may land a surprise with either Jernigan or Ray. Plus we still have serious players with Montgomery, Downs, hopefully Davenport, Allen etc. D line gunna be beast.

Linebacker Trovon Randle could become a monster with time. But even though we're losing Sheppard I still see big things from Minter on the inside. Baker will get even better, and francois should show improvement. Don't count out the young bloods either. Munice, Barrow, should continue development.

This is a huge DB class to add to our already talented secondary. We're probably going to lose PP7, but Mathieu should become a beast. Claiborne is another good player. Remember, Simon is a huge CB who will develop. Vinson will see the field. Eugene is a serious sleeper, the guy is an animal. Watched him in the state championship, and he can do it all. Jenkins, Martin, Turner, and Collins can play both positions. Loston should become a freak this year. Don't forget about Eric Ried either.

I follow recruiting, but don't analyze the players individually...I tend to look at the larger picture.

We have an outstanding team in place already. The weakest position (as far as numbers or depth goes) is linebacker. but we're OK there.

As far as I can tell, our glaring weakness is QUARTERBACK...and we certainly addressed that need with Mettenberger and Rivers. We could further enhance that position's stability by getting better coaching of the quarterbacks. This may or may not happen...I hope it does. I never could make up my mind about what the problem was at the QB position. Due to overall lack of performance at that position, I'm beginning to think that we have deficiencies at the athlete level AND the coaching level.

So I'm kind of stoked about the QB recruits. Coaching now has to get better

We definitely addressed our biggest weakness in a very big way this year !!

This class seems outstanding to me, I just hate losing or not recruiting several really good Louisiana kids. Finishing strong will remove that bad taste for sure but that remains to be seen. Here's hoping we get four gems with these last four openings.

Would not worry about how many Stars a player has, a player that attends a certain recruiting network camps and/or all star game could receive inflated rankings. The player that holds off committing can also recive a higher ranking for the simple fact that it adds to the drama of the show to have a 4 star turn the hat instead of a 3 star.
For those that attend HS games in person good scouting rule to follow: if it takes morre then a quarter to spot the D1 recruit, then the player is not a D1 recruit.
