So I was listening to these guys today and SVP brought up a very good point about the D and shed it in a new light. A more positive light. AJ, Murray and Mett are 4yr/seniors and JFF is a freak of nature. All 4 are VERY good at what they do and Mett, Murray and AJ know wtf they are doing with respect to reading a D, finding open WR's and making plays is an attribute for all 4. All 4 of these teams lost a TON to the NFL, on D. 3 of these teams recruit at the highest level. Of the 4, UGA and LSU lost the most significant play makers on D. SVP & Russillo basically conceded that all we are really seeing is very experienced/talented O's taking advantage of a wide range of youth across the D in this league. **A league that was heavy on Experience and Talent with regards to D.** Anyway, after a few days, I feel like it isn't quite as bad as I thought it was on D. No we are not 2011 or 2012 quality, but I firmly believe we have the players and tools to get there again by seasons end.
Maybe. But our defensive losses were greater than a lot of us realized or cared to admit. We have been spoiler so long with an embarrassment or riches talent wise on D that we believed the hype about "we don't rebuild every year, we just reload". At least I did. Clearly that's not the case this season. These players are not nearly as skilled overall as a unit as we are used to seeing in recent years. If not for the mind of Cameron, the arm of Mett, the legs of Hill, and the hands of Landry and Beckham, our team would be mediocre. At best.
Jordan Jefferson could have found those receivers, every one was wide ass open on every play except the long ball on White. Not anyone within 5 yards of them, and sometimes 10 or more.
I'm guessing Johnny effin Football. Took me a while to decipher that incoherent passage then figured who else in the SEC could it be?
