Isn't it about time we started looking inward though, infrastructure especially, homelessness, inequality. I know we have a place in the world but it shouldn't trump our own problems.

Indeed, infrastructure neglect is a matter that should rise to the top of the priority list. But we live in a global economy and we can no longer ignore what happens across the oceans. Foreign policy, vast economic power, and the global military capability is an advantage that we would be foolish to give up. We must play our role as Superpower, lest it go to another less worthy.

Nothing a job won't fix. And there are job for the ambitious. Good jobs. Louisiana has a 4.5% unemployment rate. Anybody who is willing to work can find work here. The biggest barrier to employment is a general unwillingness to work in about 5% of us. It has always been that way.

There are some serious issues here in the logarithmic rise in the wealth and influence of the 1-percenters in this country. It's an oligarchy that is scary and similar to the one that brought down Rome. Americas success has always been about the immense size and endless opportunity of its middle class. But an unprecedentedly wealthy upper economic class has arisen that threatens to control and ruin it all.

No matter what your position you have to love this: Jimmy Fallon plays Putin with Sarah Palin in phone call.

No it doesn't. Sounds like I don't think we should be involved in Crimea... You poorly assume.

Well I don't know if you have noticed, but things aren't spectacular here. We have spent a lot of money doing "other things". We could back off a bit and that would be huge savings.

THat doesn't mean we pull out everything, but I think we overreach .

We can read you like a book, Hoss.

"Things" are fabulous here. Where are things better? Russia? China? Finland?

    You assume you can.

Again, I don't care where things might be better. I am saying we could be doing a lot more for our country. As Lasalle mentioned.

Infrastructure is getting outdated, Unemployment is still high, our school system is down trending, etc.

Virtually no violent crime, thriving economies, limited pollution, better working environments and benefits, better healthcare, the list goes on and on
