So Peveto is really going to coach the remainder of the season?

I guess. I just thought that Golden was a pretty good hire for the Hurricanes. In short, I don't see Miami going back to the "golden" days of the 80's/90's/early 00's any time soon.

 

They just need the right guy. It's not like the state isn't loaded with talent. Whoever it is needs the Ray Lewis' and Warren Sapp's of the world to help the program, use them as a tool to get the best players in Florida to commit to Miami. If he can start pulling in top 10 recruiting classes and coach, he may not bring Miami to what it was but damn that's an extremely tall order for anyone. I'm thinking this Fuente dude might like that challenge and I think that's what Miami needs, a young energetic guy.

If BDP sends out the hands team for a likely onsides kick and they don't align as if they are expecting said onsides kick correctly then Leslie burns one of his timeouts that he often uses without true cause anyway.

Except that didn't happen. We acted as if WKU was kicking it deep straight up. Peveto either calls for his players to be aware and then recognizes they clearly are not aware and calls timeout or he more likely doesn't fully prepare them for that possibility and they play the kickoff as normal.

Which scenario, to you as a logical individual, seems more likely?

 

I work for a very large, very successful corporation. They have had great success for an extremely long time. They fire underachievers daily, is part of why thy are so successful. I don't see Peveto getting fired during or after the season, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if he did. I thought he was dead weight the first time around and his second stay looks even worse.

 

Golden's record at Temple was 26-33. Miami had to be out of their minds to hire him. That's like hiring the head coach at Vanderbilt. Who in their right mind would do that? Oh, yeah, Joe Dean did it. Ironically, Temple has a hot young coach this year. Al Rhule has the Owls still undefeated at this point in the season with showdowns vs undefeated Houston and undefeated Memphis looming

Miami is no longer a top 5 or top 10 or even a top 20 job. The U needs to go after a name coach. Fuente might be really good but I think he is the successor to The Old Ball Coach.

He ain't walking through that door again. Or any coaching door. Thug U has a better shot at hiring NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson than former coach Jimmy Johnson

 

Would you go to Miami or South Carolina?

 

I would go to Miami. Great area for recruiting, former players who could help persuade recruits and sell them on the advantages of the U. The state of South Carolina doesn't produce enough high school talent to sustain a great program. Spurrier did as well as he did because he recruited Florida and Georgia. But Spurrier already had the reputation of being a great coach and National Championship winner. What he did would be much harder for a young coach from a non Power 5 program.
