So Peveto is really going to coach the remainder of the season?

what did you think of his unit not being told to be ready for an onside kick with the game still in the balance at 34-20? do you find that acceptable?

the kickoff out of bounds? a second kickoff that miraculously stayed in bounds and bounced into the endzone? a big punt return called back due to penalty?

if that's "better play", then we have lowered our expectations to absolute garbage

yes, Leslie will give Peveto another 3 years to fix it if necessary, that's not in question at this point

How do you know they were told not to expect it? Just because we did not recover it? We had men on the play. Three wide receivers on the front line.

What is miraculous about a touchback in the corner of the field? It was just what he was told to do. Les always has his kickers kick to the sides to limit the options for the returner. Sometime they go out of bounds, this one did not. And Peveto is not the kicker. You think the kicker will get better if Peveto is fired? Get real.

It's better than last week. Progress is progress. Expectations have nothing to do with progress, obviously.

Well, your solution to every problem is to fire a coach immediately. You thought we should have fired Grimes after game one last season! Sorry, I think you are rash.

Firing the ST coach in the middle of the season would be a mistake IMO. I also cannot blame the coach for bad kicks and/or punts. Lord knows they practice these things a hundred times a day. However, getting players to maintain their lanes, not blocking in the back, etc is the coach's job and I would expect thatwe still need to see vast improvement in hose area's. We also need more hustle on both KO's and punt returns, a team with as much speed as we have should not be meeting receivers at the 15/20 yard line on Kick offs and having a 5 yard cushion on 38 yard punts.

I agree with you fully. This has been my mindset, too. I have "felt it" since the beginning of the season. It's a similar sense to a game that I felt when LSU went to UGA a few years back. I just knew we would lose a close, high scoring game. Against Bama this year, like you Tirk, I think LF will have his biggest game of the year, will be the difference maker, and BH will make them pay when they stack. Also, the OL will be looking to make a statement in this game.

You are right, but it's usually when a HC is under fire - as in the case of Mack Brown. As soon as he felt the heat, and his defense quit playing, he fired Manny. He was forced to hire some old dude in retirement b/c there were no others available. CLM is not under fire, LSU is ranked #4, and STs play is improving slightly. Need to go after Joe Rob at the end of the season, imo.

In my mind there's a hell of a difference between firing a head coach who just got pounded 58 - 0 and whose players don't appear to be giving 100% effort and firing an assistant coach whose team is undefeated with 4 games remaining and ranked #4 in the country.

    This X 1000.

I agree that our special teams is an unexpected weakness on an otherwise "damn strong" team, but firing a coach midyear just doesn't occur under our current circumstances.

And, frankly, I feel like Miami made a mistake in firing Golden.
