I think that's just true. I think everyone is inherently racist to some degree, it's something we are born with. Is saw this video of this little 4 year old white girl once, and in front of her was a picture with 6 little girls in a row, the girl on the far left was white, and each girl after looked exactly the same as the one before but their skin color was just a little darker than one before. They asked her, which girl is the good girl, she pointed to the fairest skin colored girl. They asked why, she said because she looks like me. Then they asked which one is the bad girl, she pointed to the one with the darkest skin color, when asked why she said because she is dark. Her mother was appalled. So I think to some degree all of us are born with some form of bigotry.

 

Little children associate with similarity, or familiarity. Humans do not have some molecular level, predisposed genome code to racism or bigotry. Watch any small child at a park or similar setting, they will instantly gravitate to any other child around their age and play with them, regardless of color or ethnicity. Racism, bigotry, etc. are learned behaviors based on life experiences, family, environment, etc.

 

But you do realize what you described leaves with parenting right?

All that kid is doing is associating good/bad with a color/familiarity.

It's bigotry, and it's inhereted, and I'm not saying it's her fault or she is a bad person. I'm just saying all of us are born with prejiduce.

 

I think that is a very flawed premise and a terrible experiment. I have a 3 year old and her best friend is a little Indian (like from India) and God is fucking with me because I'm pretty sure she is Muslim. The point being she has never been "coached" to select friends by any color or Creed.

In the example you laid out they forced the child to make a decision based on nothing and then intentionally corrupted the sample pool. Complete bullshit.
