If all goes as planned and 2 of the 3 teams stay undefeated (preferably KState and Oregon), then LSU exposing Bama's defense and wearing that team the phuck out the week before obviously caused Alabama to not have enough fuel in the tank to beat Texas A&M yesterday. Preventing Alabama from playing in the title game a moral victory? You bet your sweet Nick Saban. I got my own personal closure with that game now.
I wouldn't be so sure they're out of it yet. Oregon has a tough schedule and ND has to play USC. Also, Bama will either be playing a Georgia team in the top 5, or they will have moved in front of Georgia by the SECCG. I do think LSU deserves a lion's share of the credit for A&M's win, though.
Did the LSU game have a lot to do with the loss, Im sure it did. The game was very emotional and physcial. Add to that Bama has played a lot of football without a break. Still in all, it gives me absoutely no closure or anything of the like. Bama beat LSU. The loss was marred by poor coaching at the end of the game as well as player breakdowns on the TD. Bama losing reconciles nothing for me.
Kansas State smartly scheduled Texas the last weekend of the season, when Bama will be playing their SEC CG. Oregon of course will be playing in the PAC-12 CG against USC or UCLA (who should be ranked in the top 15 by then). Texas could be close to top 10 as well for Kansas State by the time they play them. There will be absolutely no debating a 1 loss Alabama getting in over either of those 2 teams, should they stay unbeaten. Not going to happen. Would love to see K-State and Oregon go at it. Bill Snyder winning a championship and then retiring would be awesome.
Ole Miss had a fourth and two "inches" on their last drive in the TAMU game. We went in the shotgun and ran with our 160 lb "power" back. OM should have, could have, would (?) have won. Go figure.
If you use "What If" or "Shoulda Coulda" logic you can make a case for LSU, Florida and Bama being almost undefeated also.
