At 10-2 and ranked in the top 8 of the BCS, LSU would be in the running for a different BCS Bowl I would have to think. If the sugar goes to someone else, it would be Fiesta or Orange right?

Not according to Rabalais. Before Oregon & KState choked, then yeah.

Regardless, I think the Noles can handle the gators. I mean, we're talking about the same Florida team that needed a miracle at the last second to avoid overtime with USL, for god's sake. They also looked pretty impotent vs Mizzou.

The BCS bowls must (by rule) take FL if they are in the top 4, there would no choice between taking FL or anyone else.

My opinion, if FL wins, they are sugar and we are Cap One. If Noles win, we are sugar.

Either way it is time to ROAST SOME PIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GEAUX!

The only way we get into a BCS bowl is if the loser of the SECCG and FLA drops below us , then we would play most likley clemson in the sugar bowl . if we dont make the Sugar we will be in the capital one against maybe wisconsin are michigan because i really think they wanna a Texas A&M vs texas cotton bowl ...

When does the SEC vs. Big 12 Sugar Bowl partnership start?

There is an agreement between the SEC and the Big 12 to stage an annual match-up in the Sugar Bowl if possible, but it was just signed this past off-season so I'm not sure if it's in effect yet. If it is, then it will likely be K-St. in the Sugar. It is dependent upon the title game however. It was designed to be the exact same relationship the PAC-12 and the BIG have with one another for the Rose Bowl.

The rules do not force the BCS to take the highest rated second team in a conference, unless they are at 4 or above. For example, if FL lost, and if GA lost the SECCG but finished 5th in the BCS, and LSU finished 6th, a BCS bowl can choose which team it wants to invite (FL GA or LSU). Just a technical point.

It depends on how Florida loses, as far as if they will drop below LSU with a loss or not. Even if Georgia losses close to Bama, I think they will drop below LSU. People will remembe their 35-7 loss to S. Carolina. I honestly think we get the Sugar bowl bid if Florida and UGA both lose. Hell, if UGA beats Bama in Atlanta, we could still get to NO even over Bama depending on how much Bama losses to UGA by. Lots of scenarios to still play out. There are still scenarios where we can get to Miami even. The season ain't over yet! Now we just wait and hope lightning starts striking!
