That situation has been much reported for the past 20 years, you know. Obama didn't make it up, he stated a fact. I gave a logical response, explaining my reasoning. Then you come back with a political diatribe. Learn to read and don't waste my time.
Big difference, absolutely. I also linked an article discussing the issue with isis and what they really are after. What bothers me about the "jobs" statement is the person who made them. She is endemic to the problem in Washington right now and an example of why mistakes continue to be made. Marie Harf is all of 33. Her boss is 36. Neither has much experience beyond their Ivory Tower education and campaign work. I think the American people deserve better. People with more common sense and understanding of issues at a much deeper level. So knowing that isis is after an apocalyptic event to either die or establish a caliphate worldwide....what is the answer? All out war? Continued bombing? Another puppet government?
ISIS hasn't even establish a working caliphate in the barren deserts of eastern Syria. The surrounding countries are against them rather than lining up for them. Their rhetoric, based on mythological ideology, is a far cry from what they can actually achieve. Terrorism has never in history gained their advocates what they wanted. ISIS' claim to fame was that they overran territory guarded by the Syrian and Iraqi armies in military fashion. American airpower halted that episode, so now they have returned to guerrilla war, terrorism, and war crimes. None of the countries that surround them intend to let them expand. The atrocities have turned all potential allies against them. Individual Jihadists from all over have flocked to Syria where they can be targeted and can't cause trouble at home. They won't cause an apocalyptic event, nor establish a worldwide caliphate. They cannot succeed in their endeavor. Their population is oppressed. They will fall back onto more terror in an attempt to get the Great Satan to come fight them on their terms so that they can be martyred. What is the answer? We let them implode at the lowest cost in money and American lives that is possible. Time is not on their side. They do not threaten the existence of the United States. Russia still does. ISIS is a threat to our middle eastern allies. So we strangle their economy and let them get more desperate and weaker. We strengthen the capabilities of the Kurds and the Iraqis to resist them. We encourage the well-equipped Saudi, Egyptian, and Jordanian military to actually use some of that America military hardware to defend their own interests because we won't solve any of their problems unless their are committed to fight themselves. We let ISIS atrocities cause even conservative Egyptians, Saudis, and Jordanians to go to war against them. Let that sink in a minute. Egypt, Jordan, and Syria, the triumvirate that fought three wars against Israel, are now fighting ISIS instead. So is the entire Arab League. So is Hezbollah. So is Iran. ISIS has replaced Israel as the most-hated figure in the Muslim world. In time they will collapse from within because they expect Allah to support them and he ain't coming.
unfortunately, the crazy chik is right. its time to smoke em if you got em. time to start setting a few examples. they only understand force. make it happen. it will take an actual commander in chief who isnt a muslim sympathizer however.
it will take an actual commander in chief who isnt a muslim sympathizer however.[/QUOTE] bingo we have a winner
of course, no one, even b.o. does not deny this. but when the solution requires primarily muslim nations, potus doesn't help the cause when he says "islam". the opponent wants to make it a islam v christianity war.
I think it's time for Egypt, and UAE, and Jordan to put boots on the ground. The United States has no business putting soldiers at risk.
