I wonder if Saban will look to the north... much closer to home... Fits his run first, play tough defense-style... Plus the Steelers are a team that is much further along than the Dolphins... THey would have been in the playoffs this year had Roethlisburger stayed off his bicylcle...

I don't think the Rooneys would consider him. They, more than any other owners, value consistency and won't want to deal with a coach with gypsy tendencies.

This will be an interesting process for the Steelers, though I suspect they'll hire one of the coordinators.

Very true, I think they've only had like 2 or 3 different coaches in the franchise histroy.

It's widely speculated that Russ Grimm , the OL coach and assistant head coach, or Ken Whisenhunt, the OC, will be given the job if Cowher retires. They have only had 2 HCs since 1970, like someone else said. The Rooneys value stability.

they will look long and hard at upwards to 10-15 people... many minorities involved...

isn't the minority interviewing rule named the Rooney Rule?

If that is such a big thing for them, then I'd expect Denny Green to get looked at.

Whisenhunt is the top name, I have heard for the Atlanta job. This is the reason they want a desicion from Bill as soon as possible.
