Well, I for one am not giving him any slack. He's one of the highest paid assistant coaches in America, and he needs to start earning his f'ing paycheck. Yes, I realized that he lost quite a few players over the past couple of years, but that is not an excuse. Look at what Rob Ryan is doing for the Saints with players who are no where near as talented as some of the more heralded defenses in the league. This loss falls squarely on Charvis. Georgia's DC flat outcoached his fat ass. At this point, it's time for Les and Chief to burn those redshirts and start putting some of the highly rated freshman class on the field. Maybe that will light a fire under the upper classman and get them to start playing more aggressively? And, that prevent crap needs to torn from the playbook and burned. I'd rather see our defense getting burnt on a big play with the QB's laying on his ass rather than having the oppossing offense pick and gash us up and down the field all day. If we start hitting those QB's, maybe their throws won't be as accurate and we'll get some opportunited for turnovers.
Yep, our secondary was a joke last year, but we had the front seven to mask the weakness temporarily.
He sure didn't. "Look" he did though. He's a "looker". "Looks" at every pass completion in his vacinity. He needs to be benched. They must be leaving him in to help recognize the offense and help the younger players line up where they're supposed to be. True dat.
Freak had an INT that turned into a TD. As far as Chavis goes, maybe you can give him some flack but I don't think you can expect the guy to work miracles. He might have been running prevent defense because we got burned in man coverage al game. Do you honestly want Millis and Loston by themselves with the game on the line? Let's face it guys. Our defense is young, raw, and not ready. It might take a year and another recruiting class to fix the issues we have.
Prevent or not, we could not stop them or get any pressure on Murray anyway the entire game. Georgia punted once the entire game and we know how that turned out. This sucks....
Ron Coopers boy's were pretty good last year. Takes awhile for a new coach to screw them up. I guess this is the year.
I blame yesterdays loss on Chavis and Beckham (fumbled kick). Remember the Tennessee guys telling us watch out for "3rd and Chavis" ???
Any good DB coaches out there? If I were Miles I'd go hang around the DB practice area first thing Monday and see what's going on over there. Not much it seems. They have had the Spring practice, they have had the Fall camp and now four games into the season and still nobody seems to know what they're supposed to do back there. Our safeties are terrible.
