No...not the man....the legend....the baar.....Doesn't matter how much evidence or how many times he's been found guilty you will never convince a bama fan he cheated. After all without bama there is no such thing as football....right?
My late grandfather was a Miss St. alum and a die hard one at that. I asked him one time if Coach Bryant cheated so much then why is he remembered by the college football community and sports media as one of the greatest coaches of all time? I mean if the guy had to cheat to win and got caught then why all the accolades and public recognition by NON Bama fans and is kept in the record books? Here was his answer. "Bryant cheated and won. The rest either cheated and lost or cheated and didn't win enough to matter." I do not condone what Bryant did and to be honest haven't done any research myself to really form an opinion for myself. Much of my information is coming from other college football fans like my late grandfather who was right in the middle of what was going on during Bryant's days. From the stories I heard him tell I gather that more than Bryant was doing things under the table. Which brings me to my own opinion as to why Bryant is still recognized by the football community and media as one of the greatest coaches. Because if they were to take Bryant's accomplishments out of the record books because of his "cheating" they'd have to take many other high profile coaches that are considered "great" out of there as well. Just my opinion.
:sob: :sob::sob: He was a great coach, but he is DEAD NOW. Lets put his cheating ways to rest unless Bama would like to go on probation again. :bncry: :bncry:
Blasphemy!!! He's not dead he's with Elvis down at the Waffle House on Hwy 80 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Get your chit straight.
Just landed Destin Hood out of Mobile................safe to say that Saban has "fenced in" the Mobile area for now. On to Julio and Barron.
Well Saban has a long way to go to reclaim Mobile. A few players out of your own state doesnt change that. Hood want on our radar so yall can have him. A few more years of picking up the best players out of Mobile would convince me he has setup a wall but until then Mobile is just an extension of LA.:thumb:
I bet Jim Well is just as happy as Saban. He is one of the nicest guys and will be a great pickup. Wish we had him higher on our board.
He commits to Bama & jumps into the Rivals 100 in the same week. He doesn't deserve to be in there at all.
not in there. cparso, im worried about your reading comprehension skills this week. but he will jump into the 250 wednesday, so good point. he is a great wr, though. the most underrated guy in alabama without a doubt.
He got Hood confused with Bolton. Bolton just moved to the top 100 @ #92. Because he chose Bama, I am sure that disqualifies him from being worthy of a 4th *. But wait, does that mean that Gabbert doesn't deserve his 5th *? No it doesn't. These kids have been evaluated inside and out all summer long. The rankings reflect these evaluations.
