Let me preface this by saying I AM NOT STARTING A RUMOR or trying to piss anyone off.
I just read some articles on the net the RichRod could be in some serious trouble at Michigan IF these violations pan out and UM puts up some more stinkers.
With that said, They wanted Miles to begin with, they could paint it as we are in trouble and need our night in shining armor and here is a BOAT load of bread to do it.
I believe Miles has found his home, but sadly there was an article in the Advocate awhile back saying Miles seat may be a a little warmer after last year and if LSU puts up a stinker confererence record.

So this isnt a thread about "Who will we hire" because there is about a 1% chance that will happen.

But in the interest of Boredom as it seems RichRod is on the ropes will UM make a major run at Miles again. Which I think Miles will say thanks but no thanks if it ever happened.

after his "damn strong" speech, i don't think so. the dude seemed pretty adamant about being LSU's coach. as long as LSU stays loyal to CLM, i think he'll stay loyal to LSU.

EDIT - i mis-read your question. do i think michigan will try to lure CLM? hell yeah! UM and any other school that has the chance to! but i think CLM stays loyal to "his" school.

:geaux: Wouldn't surprise me a bit if they make another run at CLM should RichRod stink up the Big House again. I don't think they'll give him a third year should he lay another stinker. He'd be two and done. Having said that, I think CLM definitely stays should LSU improve significantly over last years 8 - 5 record, which I believe he will. However, if he has another sub-par year and the natives get restless I think he would listen to what Michigan has to say. I think the odds are he would stay, but I'll never say "never" when it comes to college coaches staying put these days. :LSU231:

I agree I am not suggesting Miles will jump, I am just asking if everyone thinks UM will make a HUGE effort to go after him. I am going to the ND vs Mich game in the Big house next Saturday. I have friends who are UM people and they are already barking about 86ing RichRod and making wanting UM to do "Whatever it takes" to get Miles.... Of course its just fans talking

Just curious if people think there is chance. I think he will tell them thanks but no thanks but it will get the internet hopping again.

Man, I was hoping no one would notice that giant elephant in the corner of the room. :rolleye33: I catch myself pulling for Michigan more and more, hoping they will just stay content. Every time I hear bad news from that school I just cringe. I was not gonna bring it up, and I will keep the faith...but I know if they do suck, and sanctions are put on them, they will 100% be calling. I hope Les will tell them thanks, but no thanks.
I swear that whole scenario reminds me of a country song:
"Now that old flame might not be stronger, but it's been burning longer, than any spark I might have started in your eyes"

Here is to a great year, making Les and the fans happy, and no "cheatin country songs" :milesmic:

If Rich does not win at least 9 this year, and does not beat at least 1 of their most hated rivals, Michigan State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, with all the hoopla going on he will be gone, i think they will make a play for Miles, will he go, i have no idea, i never know what that dude is going to do, but i think its kind of ridiculous to think that Miles will retire in Baton Rouge.

Fans will talk. But there was a significant anti-Miles sentiment up there in 2007, too.

Most coaches only get one major opportunity in a career. Les has found one and would be foolish to cut it short, as Nick did. LSu will also make a huge effort to keep him. Even if Miles were to leave someday after a successful run, to finish his career at his alma mater, it wouldn't bother me any.

With our last two head coaches winning national championships, earning top pay, playing in a legendary stadium, and recruiting at the highest level . . . LSU will be the plum job opening for whoever is the hottest head coaching candidate and we'll steal him away from his current school just like we did with Nick and Les.

Assuming RR's gone next year, I think they come after :milesmic:. I don't think they get him. In a few years' maybe, but not now.
