So did Davis/Blackwell actually go to Bama?

I am just wondering which is worse:
    1. visiting other schools after making the commitment
    2. decommitting after an earlier commitment week(s) before NSD
    3. decommitting at the last minute

Obviously, to me, #3 is the worst. That being said, that would make #1 tame, though still no desirable.

The problem with Davis is the way he did it. Saying things to the press in a completely opposite way to his actions.....reminiscent of what Saban did in Miami. The redeeming thing, however, that Davis did was admitting that he lied and apologized for it (according to an earlier post). His actions tend to make me think or speculate (and of course I can be totally wrong) that he still would like to be at LSU, which would be good in the sense that it is still good PR for LSU as he chose LSU despite taking a look at Bama. However, it would be a slight uphill battle for him to convince Miles of his true intentions. If he really want to stay, I think a face to face meeting with Miles would be critical as I believe one can usually sense how serious or sincere he is. I suspect as other do it won't be long before we know the outcome of this. If he changed his heart, then all this discussion is moot.

Do we want him? I would, considering he is a blue chipper. I am not as concerned about what he did as long as he is a Tiger at heart. Youngsters do make mistakes, not to mention adults.Just hope he learns from this. However, because of this , he would be on a short leash if he is on the team.

Undestand, I never meant to imply Mike S. was lying...writing to his audience, yes.

I don't find any fault in players giving a verbal to Alabama, and then deciding that another school might be a better fit for them. There are a lot of important factors they must weigh. Lest we don't forget, they aren't even adults yet...and being forced to make a life time decision. I don't envy them, in the least.

I wonder if it is possible that he had a change of heart after those comments, particularly if he got curious after being bombarded with the good things that Bama can offer. He could have thought that he had nothing to lose getting a free trip ,and an additional look at another program to test his LSU commitment. Seems like commitment doesn't mean much these days to some folks,.....like Saban ( sorry Terry, I have to throw that in!).

    LOL.

Only thing wrong with what you posted is he paid his own way...it wasn't a free trip.
