So did Davis/Blackwell actually go to Bama?

    I don't doubt the story.

I am just saying that Bama has no chance at either of these guys. They are firm LSU. It was fun trip to Bama (I guess) and it's over with. Not the way I would have handled it, but they are immature kids with nothing to do. It's a whirlwind kinda thing for some of them and they get caught up in people fawning over them. Give them a break. It's gonna be alright.

If he's burnt those bridges because of the Miami situation, how do you explain the 30+ players in the NFL from his time at LSU? An NFL pipeline has nothing to do with "connections" in the NFL, it has to do with the development of the players in their collegiate days.

From what I understand, the LD story isn't over. If what I'm hearing is correct, (understand, this is coming from people that have been wrong before and it isn't something I would quote as fact) he's going to deny his interest in Alabama because of the flak he would receive at home if he commited today. I imagine, we won't know for sure until NSD. NO, we'll know for sure NSD...and I'll state that as fact. :D

I'm not the one stating that he has NFL connections, CNS is.

Saban can have some credit for "Developing" them but they didn't all get there because of him. They were here when he arrived.

This has been posted before but thought it was worthy of a re-post.

Saban and LSU was the perfect scenerio for BOTH parties. Saban came to a school hungry for a winner, Saban needed a school that he could recruit to. We had talent, he has talent. Both parties are a lot better off now bc of this short marriage that we had. It was great timing by both parties and I am glad that Saban was our coach for 5 years. I am also very happy with Coach Miles and believe that he is going to accomplish great things here. Saban coming back to the SEC is like him divorcing LSU and then moving in with the step sister. Good luck to him, but he is TIGERBAIT.

0-0 He's yet to coach a college game...

Records in the NFL and college can't be compared to each other. You know that.

Hypothetically, if he had commited to Alabama this past weekend. I know the visit went well, but, developing a relationship with a player over a couple of days when he's been recruited by another school for a year+ is a tough, tough thing to overcome.

shouldnt this be a great opportunity for LSU to free up a much needed scholly since theres a load of d-linemen already in the mix? i expected one to decommit due to depth and this could be the case here. especially if he's a flake id take the opportunity to do so. that is, if miles has that policy in place that was spoken about last year.

True, but it sets a bad precedent to have one of our current commits switch to Bama.

I've been trying to figure this out & I have my own theory why Luther is doing this. Saban was not kind to Luther's family or his brother during recruiting. Luther probably holds it against Saban a bit for the way he recruited (or didn't recruit) his brother. Maybe he feels like he's getting back at Saban by making him think Bama has a shot at him - only to stick with LSU.

thats why if les made his policy clear to him, you cut bait. Doesnt matter what school is involved. if he was a dire position need, thats when you are forced to take chances on a guy. if hes not and already giving you signs of a possible head case, no need. then it wont be his choice of anyone over LSU.

it will have been LSU's choice not to offer due to the unwritten agreement.
