So did Davis/Blackwell actually go to Bama?

Yeah you are right, what was I thinking? I mean clearly you have proven to me that Saban sucks and there is absolutely no reason for any recruit to even consider going there....I am clearly in the wrong here.

I can agree with that. But even if he was fired or ran out his contract with Miami and he went on to accepted the job @ Alabama anyways, We all know we would be ticked off at him for going to a rival school. Plus if Shula can have a #1 defense there Im fairly certain Saban can.

Believe me, I dont like the way he went about this whole affair. But you cannot just blindly say that everyone should go to LSU, regardless of what they want to do and that because of the way he left the Dolphins that no recruit should go there.

Regardless, the only point Im trying to make is that maybe we shouldnt take the Alabama game for granted. I loved catching up with them in terms of all time record against them, but with a clearly lying but clearly very good head coach, the game will not be so easy.

Well, we haven't nearly caught up with them, but I think you mean made up some ground. Nobody in their right mind is saying CNS sucks as a coach OR recruiter. BUT, his recruiting schemes aren't working like they used to because he destroyed his credibility in front of the entire nation. You think Phelon Jones' dad would've said what he said had CNS not done what he's done?

I could have worded that better, you are right, ofcourse they are still vastly ahead of us, but it is VERY fun to catch up.

I see what youre saying but some people (not you per say) seem to think he will have NO recruiting swagger, which is unfortunately not going to happen. He did lose alot of credibility in my and many others' books, but with many people, their attention span is roughly fifteen minutes. I wouldnt be the least bit surprised to see the only people still irked by Sabans deceit in, lets say three years, are LSU and Dolphin fans. This seems ridiculous but it wouldnt surprise me at all.

True enough, but one of his recruiting schemes is "I can get you to the NFL". He has, again, burnt those bridges. Now, maybe a recruit won't KNOW that, but it is true.

This is a non story. What I mean by that is it won't amount to anything. the boys are solid LSU thru and thru.

Here is what Davis had to say about Saban:

"He told me that he wanted me there but I told him I was solid to LSU and I don't think that is going to change and Will told him the same thing," Davis said. "He was kind of mad that we turned down the visit and turned down the scholarship.

"I have been around and I know where I want to be and that is at LSU."

A few things Saban lied/hedged to the fellas about:

    1) The coaching staff at LSU can't compare to what they have at Bama
    2) He said he would make them better than Spears and Hill were at LSU
    3) Bama's academic center was better than the one he built at LSU
    4) Everything that happened at LSU since he left he gave no credit to anyone at LSU

Here is another couple of interesting quotes:

"Really, the first thing we were saying (after he left) is how about we are going to beat Bama in the next four-to-five years."

"He came across as arrogant when he was recruiting my brother and my family didn't like that then," Davis said. "I seriously would not be going to LSU if he were still there."

These two things really tick me off and make me wish the game was in May. :po:

Miles will make him understand some things- even though it may take whipping his caboose for a few years.

But then again, based on the alleged visit to Bama this weekend, do we know if we can believe those quotes? TRUST ME, I'm not taking up for CNS, but that could very well be BS from LD.

On premium sites there are several other recruits quoted as saying they spent time with Davis and Blackwell. I dont believe for a minute this visit is "alleged" when you have uninterested 3rd parties confirming the visits. They were there, period.
