Yeah that is the reason. If brains were gasoline you couldn't power a flea mobile around the inside of a cheerio
If that bothers you so much, hold on to your hat, you aint seen nothing yet. I can see someone complaining about Hallman like this. Miles has done what no coach has done in our history. 08 and 09 were WINNING seasons. We were not in the National Championship conversation for 4 decades after the 1958 championship.
Miles did better in 05 (11 wins) than Saban did in 04 (9 wins) I guess if you look at the players Saban inherited when he got the job (go back and look at the roster--the list of players he got from Dinardo is impressive), you have to give his early success to Dinardo? Even though Dinardo had back to back bad seasons? That logic never has worked for me. LSU has always had good talent, even with Hallman. Miles took it further, and has the highest winning percentage of any LSU coach (over twice the tenure than Saban). Winning seasons are not BAD years--they surely are not lost control years. Dinardo going 3-8 when Tepper replaced Reece was a lost control year. We were preseason 7th in the country at the start of that season. I am not optimistic for the first time in a long time, about this upcoming season. You can not be a pass happy team in the SEC, you have to have a strong running game to get it done or a damn good dual threat QB I just do not see our offense being balanced enough to get it done. QB's are not better than we have had in the past, RB's are much worse (Miles always brought in a stable of terrific RB's)---The Oline is fair this year, not one of our best. WR's are plentiful --can the QB's get them the ball and will they have enought time to do so. I do not think they will. I hope I am wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it makes you feel any better I think you’re wrong on a lot of that. If you can’t recognize the difference in the programs that Saban/Miles inherited, I think you need to go to the eye/head doc. If LSU can’t pass we ain’t doing squat on the big stage, and it seems O understands that better than Miles did. No pass vs Bama means no run vs Bama (see Fournette/Guice). Whether O can execute it is a different matter. I think we’ll have early success; I’m curious to see if O can keep the train on the tracks. Success derails teams that aren’t psychologically sound. The psychology of O is a major underlying concern of the fan base, I think.
Instead of the quick personal put down. Why not go and take a look at the talent they each got from there predecessor. The talent was there for both coaches. Each one did better with the talent than the previous coach. That's just a fact. O did not prove that we were a better passing team last year. The only really good QB we have had in the last decade was Mettenberger. Please dear lord can we recruit a durable (non skinny) QB that can throw the rock----that has a head on his shoulders, and is not a deer in the headlights. Also can Louisiana start producing-- said QB's. No run vs bama means no pass vs bama---- it goes both ways. We have got to keep them on there heels---play action passing would be great to see. Not being ranked in the top 25 --- I think the writers understand we are not going to be as good as years past. We have got to recruit more 5 and 4 star QB's, Off linemen, RB's and CB's this year. Wish everyone would call it what it is a Rebuilding year, and start putting the expectations low.
Saban got throttled by Di Nardo in the independence bowl. he want deemed a supercoach coach until tuscaloosa.came calling.
Damn Skippy! Saban would never have had the success at LSU that he is having at bama. Those boosters will do anything to get recruits. Hell with no Pro teams in Alabama it is all they have.
What was the story with bama booster Logan Young? All I know is after he died, they started winning big time.
Funny how many think he is the football whisperer. When you get the 5 star/4 star recruits vs the 4 star/3 star it's unbelievable what you can do with it. Great Coordinators are always a plus. Do not get me wrong he is a damn good coach. No he was not as good as Miles at LSU. Miles had 8 ten plus winning seasons ----Saban had two They still will spread his ass cheeks and climb up in there.
