Hold on now. Look at what you're comparing. Both teams had three losses--the '04 team and the '12 team. Both teams had two conferences losses and dropped a post season game the following year. The difference is the '04 team played one less game than the 12 team and you're citing "9 wins.." The '05 team played 13 games as did the '13 team. The '13 team was 10-3 finishing in Tampa on a 12 week regular season. That '05 team--with an 11 game regular season, makes it to ATL and then ends in the Peach. Same number of losses with one team playing fewer games but also appearing in the SECCG. And let's not forget this. All three teams and their schedules were based on an eight game conference schedule. You changed the years and I see it falling the same way I did the first time.
Please. Don't try to change history. You were here when the crowd was yelling "ain't no 'effin way" back in the fall of '06 ... when I was encouraging you guys to hold on, this is falling together. That was before another circle-jerk had when we heard/saw the infamous "...not going to be the coach..." line in Miami. A few versions of the story have been published that are available for you to read. One thing you'll find in all of them. Nothing "fell into Alabama's lap that fall." If anything, the apple cart was almost turned over by the Chancellor at the time.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 05 team is Miles first year team he won 11 games---not Saban. No failure there. Saban was successful in 04---and Miles was successful in 12 and 13 after NC games. Yes Miles had one more win and played one more game. 8 ten win seasons for Miles--- a better winning percentage over a coaching career at LSU that was over twice as long as little Nicky's------two NC games vs 1 NC game at LSU The greatest coach in the history of LSU football is MILES not satan
Just saying Saban’s availability when y’all were in need was a gift from god/the devil. Of course, the window y’all were in need was pretty wide. We’ve been there, maybe going there again. Not saying you didn’t sell your soul to get him.
I can't take anyone seriously who even intimates Les was a better coach here than saban. My God. If it has to be explained what Saban and emmert put in place for LSU's successor even Orgeron could have won for awhile. Maybe.
The 2014 draft was horrendous for the Saints. You are right about that. But Landry and Cooks were in the same class. Cooks wasn't a bust. He was a very good player for the Saints. In hindsight, yeah, wait until the 2nd round and get Landry, but that was my point. No good NFL front office, and the Saints DO have one of those, would not draft players from LSU on purpose. They already had Cooks, who they along with everyone else in the NFL had as the 2nd best WR in that class, so they wouldn't have taken Landry in round 2. Just because they were wrong doesn't mean they avoided LSU players. Nobody had Landry rated higher than Cooks. Nobody
Discounting the success miles had while here, is just as disingenious as saying miles is better than saban
