2008 is mentioned as Miles' downward spiral? There was some damn strong football played between '08 and Miles' demise. Besides, his shitty '08 team beat Troy.
In the most frustratingly, pathetic, come from behind, I’m the better team and we’re struggling way. Yeah, they won. Oeaux was dealing with coaching turmoil/chemistry issues. You hate Oeaux, I get it, but les sucked against Troy, even if they won. I was there at the game, and I’m still embarrassed.
God have we been spoiled! Comparing Les to O vs Troy????? How bout comparing Hallman to Dinardo. You will feel better. No losing season since 1999--- that's incredible. Les has the best record in our history, and O did much better with last season than expected, especially the way we started. Still no losing season. Better buckle up, history says this will change no matter what team/coach you are pulling for. Unless you are little Nicky who has never had a losing season in college. I hate that!!!!!
Ok so let me try to clear the mud for you. Sure Les was winning. He was (that's a key word so try to follow along) winning a lot. This was early in his tenure here and about mid point it started to slip. If you pay attention this in proportion to the rise of the red menace. You can hem and haw and disagree all you want but this is the bottom line. Les did so good early on because he had incredible talent on the field that at the end of the day was just better than every one else. When he started to slip just happens to coincide with the time other schools (red menace primarily ) got not only equal but often times better talent and it then became an issue of coaching. Lea is a phenomenal recruiter, just not that great of a coach and it bit him in the ass. Unfortunately your prediction is probably spot on. We are very likely on a slide to who knows where because the red menace isn't about to slow down and the only way to stop them is for the evil midget to either die, retire or take another stab at the NFL AND for Dabo's plane to crash on his way to gumpville. That is it. Long shot I know but stranger things have happened. So yes, it is ridiculous to compare any coach to another coach or to say this guy can or can't do this because of his record here or there. Too many variables to make any damn sense of it or to quantify anything. What is not debatable is that had Les been able to pull his head out of his antiquated ass none of us are having this conversation.
You are sadly mistaken. You need to go back and look at Les Miles records year by year. He was 2-2 his last year with the insane circumstances he faced. The year before that he would have won 10 games if the McNeese game would not have been rained out. Yes the previous year he was 8-5---- Nobody even little Nicky matched his success at LSU. NOBODY 2005 LSU 13 11 2 0 .846 14.18 2.48 5 3 6 Peach Bowl-W 2006 LSU 13 11 2 0 .846 18.86 4.78 8 3 3 Sugar Bowl-W 2007 LSU 14 12 2 0 .857 18.41 5.77 2 1 1 BCS Championship-W 2008 LSU 13 8 5 0 .615 5.91 1.37 7 3 Chick-fil-A Bowl-W 2009 LSU 13 9 4 0 .692 12.70 6.00 11 4 17 Capital One Bowl-L 2010 LSU 13 11 2 0 .846 15.13 4.67 21 5 8 Cotton Bowl-W 2011 LSU 14 13 1 0 .929 24.27 6.27 4 1 2 BCS Championship-L 2012 LSU 13 10 3 0 .769 14.76 5.45 3 2 14 Chick-fil-A Bowl-L 2013 LSU 13 10 3 0 .769 14.59 4.28 12 6 14 Outback Bowl-W 2014 LSU 13 8 5 0 .615 10.75 5.98 13 8 Music City Bowl-L 2015 LSU 12 9 3 0 .750 15.04 6.79 14 4 16 Texas Bowl-W This is UCKING awesome!!!!!!!!!
7-0 until a total meltdown for 3 games where they got their asses kicked. Team totally mailed it in after the Bama loss.
And that is the key. Padding stats by beating bottom feeders but getting drug by the gumps. It's why we can't recruit our own damn state
