I think she was referring to African shit when she said "Big Game." All the same, since woods are now leased (as in past 30 years) and managed by hunting clubs, there are WAY more deer/ deer killed than there used to be. Growing up, there was a lot of public land to hunt on. You may hunt all year just to see a deer. Now clubs plant food plots, feed corn- a lot goes to the coons and other animals. This increased food supply holds larger populations of deer. People expect to kill a deer, and most who hunt deer, do.

There was a story that came out after the Cecil the Lion thing about this dude who went to kill big animals for sport and the animal actually killed him, and it was like an early Christmas. Conservation has its place. Preventing overpopulation, potential spread of disease and such. But I can see how it could be unappealing to some. Either way, it's just one of those things where people feel sorry for the animals just because they don't like it. No need for me to fight a lion fisticuffs because my species makes rifles. I wouldn't do it because I don't care about it. But l, to each his own I suppose.
