Wow. I'd hate to be Tron Martinez or Ryan Weaver in Huntington tonight. You talk about two ready made scapegoats. And honestly, at least in Martinez's case, it's hard not to make the case that it is totally on him. But it shows the danger in putting a young man out there who doesn't have the experience and you're not sure you have total trust in.
You're right. It's just Marshall. Why should have anything higher than our third string in the game against WV?
3 points. I can only conclude that that the word 'big' does not mean what you think it means. Can I just say that I'm happy WV won? I love an upset, but I'm all for having opponents with winning records. What a wile game.
Guess I've been lied to. I love upsets too but an ugly win is bad enough for LSU's SOS, I still had to pull for what's best for us even though it may mean difference between Cap 1 and Cotton and not Sugar vs. NC game.
Do ugly wins count against SOS? I'm seriously asking, because the BCS formula is so fricked up that one never knows. All I DO know about the BCS is that if Notre Dame has a barely-winning record, they're almost guaranteed a BCS bowl berth, the ****ers.
True. I can't for the life of me figure why a coach would want to go away from what's worked for 4 quarters.
They took away margin of victory long ago but in the coaches' poll maybe. Good thing is by end of season it won't be AS significant. A "big" win will overshadow a win over a not-so-impressive resume. BEAT BAMA!!
Only thing I can think of it's safer and it eases the coach's mind. However, the safer part doesn't take into account that the other team just scored a bunch of points to get back into the game and would be pumped up.
