    on TV -- CST

SLU's record over the last 4 seasons:
    2012: 28-13 (68.3%)
    2011: 35-22 (61.4%)
    2010: 40-19 (67.8%)
    2009: 37-22 (62.7%)
    ------------------------
    total: 140-76 (64.8%)

earlier this season, SLU won both their games vs Miss State 4-3 and 5-3

all four of these Regionals Projections have both SLU and LSU going to the Baton Rouge Regional (in other words, they all have both SLU and LSU as NCAAT teams):

SLU's starting pitcher is senior Josh Janway of Baton Rouge (Parkview Baptist, where he was All-State and led them to the State Championships).

at SLU he has a 15-8 record over the last 4 years, and this season he is #3 on their team in both innings pitched and games started (so SLU is throwing one of their top 3 starting pitchers at us, which is not surprising because I would too if I was them, this is their biggest game of the year)

meanwhile, LSU is starting sophomore Joey Broussard of New Orleans (Holy Cross, where he was All-State), who is 4-1 so far at LSU. Last year he had a 5.19 ERA, this year he has a 4.15 ERA (worst on the team besides Cody Glenn and Michael Reed)

Bonvillian takes the mound in the top of the 4th for Broussard after the first two batters reached 1st and 2nd (walk, single)

Broussard only allowed 1 run on 2 hits today, and struck out 6 of the 13 batters he faced, including four in a row

SLU fans going to be upset about this one: with a SLU runners at 2nd and 3rd, and the SLU batter having 2 strikes, SLU tried a suicide squeeze, he struck out, and the guy coming home from 3rd was tagged by Ross, but Ross didn't have the ball in his mitt (ball was in his other hand), but he was called out for out #3

Bonvillian pitched the 4th and 5th, and struck out 4 of 6 batters faced, allowing no hits
Bourgeois pitched the 6th, allowed 1 run on 1 hit (the guy singled, stole 2nd, and then scored from 2nd on a wild pitch)
Cotton pitched the 7th, and knocked them down 1-2-3 with two back-to-back strike outs
McCune just took the mound to pitch the top of the 8th

    after 7...

LSU 4, SLU 2 (LSU 7 hits, SLU 3 hits)

McCune allowed a run in the 8th (walk then triple) to make it 4-3

Goody takes mound in top 9th and gets his 7th save of the season, knocking them down 1-2-3...Goody's ERA was 0.90 with a .159 opposing batting avg before today, both are #1 on the team by far (not counting pitchers who have only thrown 3 total innings or less)

    Victory.
