I'm surprised the Congress isn't taking a look at this? Weren't they looking into a playoff system or something? Anyway government is taking over the private sector more and more I think they should take over this also!
you have got to be freaking kidding me! i thought you were for less government? this is not something for govt to get involved in. its something for the membership institutions insist get cleaned up. and you have got to be freaking kidding me. :rolleye33:
The officiating needs some kind of check and balance to gain any credibility. With all the money involved I won't be surprised if Big Brother gets involved.
Had the calls gone the other way, Bama fans and Nick Sabuhn would be in just as much uproar over the obvious as everyone else is. Hell, Sabuhn probably woulda climed a ladder, and got in some faces. But the fact that he defended them like he didn't see it all and wants to slob on Slime's knob is ridiculous. F**k you Sabuhn, and F**k you, Slive. Cheesed!ks :geaux:
I think he was being sarcastic there Annie Okie. Slive has got you so worked up you are firing from the hip.
Bad calls are part of the game but there should be a concerted effort to keep them to a minimum in order to keep the integrity of the sport high. In that light here is what I would do with respect to officiating were it in my power: 1. At the NCAA level, have an officiating academy where all officials must graduate from before being able to officiate any NCAA game. This could be used for all sports. 2. In games involving top 25 teams, have the officiating crew be from a conference other than the conferences represented by the teams in the game. This would almost eliminate any regional or institutional bias. 3. Randomly have officials from one conference go cover games in other conferences. 4. Pay refs as they are valued. 5. Require stadiums to install more replay cameras. 6. Allow coaches to have a minimum of one replay challenge per half rather than have everything done upstairs. If the coaches are wrong they lose a timeout and have no more challenges for that half. If they are right, they get their replay token back.
Sure, Mike. That's why the most well-officiated games of our season are in our FREAKING BOWL GAMES! You're not fooling anybody, and your disingenuous commentary won't turn the tide (no pun intended) of public opinion in your favor. The national media has exposed you for the joke that you are. With all of the exposure and hype that comes with being the best football conference, there is also that much more scrutiny. And you are very clearly not cut-out to handle that responsibility.
LSU fans and SEC fans need to take matters into their own hands with propaganda. Next time Game Day goes to an SEC town, the kids and everyone need to have signs about firing Mike Slive, or shirts with anti Slive rhetoric on them. It would be one thing if he would have come out and said, you know what we blew it, but we are going to continue to try and get the best officials out there. I could have lived with that, but no accountability = no credibility.
