Every year there are those talented player who, for one reason or another, seem to fall under everyone's radar. I thought a good thread would be to list those prospects that fit that description. Mine would be Eric Thomas, a wide receiver from out of Evangel Academy. He has good strength, speed and elusiveness. He has a knack for being in the right place at the right time and has demonstrated the ability to make spectaular grabs. He has great focus and does a fine job of adjusting to the ball. He is also a good leaper, capable of laying out for the diving catch. With his strength he can out-muscle the ball away from defenders. He is at his best at short-to-intermediate routes and seems to always make a play when the ball is thrown his way. In his junior year he caught 74 passes for over 1,000 yards (148.9 yards per game) and 22 touchdowns. What is even more impressive is that due to some minor injuries, he was only able to play in 7 games. That may be the reason he seems to have fallen under everyones radar. But he did get some attention at LSU's camp in June and plans to return for the July camp. The only offer he has received that I know of is ULM.
No doubt in my mind. This kid is way under the radar far as rankings go. When LSU was first handing offers out to Louisiana recruits, it boggled my mind they didn't offer him immediately. People in that area believe hes one of the best to come out in a long time and definitely huge NFL potential. He doesn't have blazing speed but hes as physical as you'll see for a WR.
I think he'll be a Tiger if we want him when it's all said and done. I really hope he's part of this class.. and I think i'm rooting for him more than I am for Hurd.
Here's a real sleepy sleeper. D.J. Banks of West Monroe. He really stood out as a cover corner in a couple of camp videos I saw. A little smallish at 5' 9", 170 but maybe with a little muscle milk he could gain an inch and 10-15 pounds. Tulane commit.
I think Hurd is better than him and no way in hell we're going to take 2 5'9 corners lol Tulane might have gotten a good one.
