I'm gonna give this a shot. But I'm gonna go on record as saying that if clock management continues to be an issue, this team is headed for trouble in 2010. Not saying that LSU will lose every game, but that it's gonna be a problem. Hopefully someone has told CLM about this and maybe it'll get fixed. I see a trend in this coaching staff that I think everyone else sees too: they correct things, but it's slow moving. Defense getting settled, now maybe our O-Line will shine, too. But here geauxs:

UNC - Should be a tough game, given that we have alot of questions to be answered. Plus it's the first game of the season. Everyone remembers the Washington game...

Vandy - They played scrappy against us last year, so we'll see what another year provides. I don't know too much about them, to be honest though.

Miss St. will more than likely be trying with a new qb, but Mullen is a good coach.

WVU - Being that it's at our house, should give us more of a push than anything else. They have a talented team. If the offense or defense isn't clicking a this point, I'd chalk this one up in the "L" column.

I read where Tenn will be replacing all of their offensive linemen, so that should help. Also, a new coaching staff and it's still early enough in the season, that they may have wrinkles to iron out. I think UT will be trying to stay above water this year. Just my guess, though.

Florida - Brantley is all I've heard about. I haven't heard anything about the returning players, but I'm sure they lost a bunch. Tebow will be gone, but Brantley is apparently a stud in the pocket. At least Spikes is gone.

McNeese St. - Nothing but the W. Some will complain that we "play down" to them, though.

Auburn - "A program on the upswing", to quote the only War Eagle fan I know. Auburn put a few pieces together and that will be trouble for LSU at the Barn. Still, though, I don't know much about what kind of defense they'll be running, but I'm sure the offense is running the spread. Am I the only one that noticed LSU D has trouble with a spread offense?

Bama - All the Sabansuckers will be on prowl for this one. Every big play Bama makes is because Saban can "coach up" talent. (Whatever that means). Jealousy round these parts always run rampant on this game day. BUT, we've played them hard for two years and lost. Time to play hard and grab the win. I'm sure everyone will remember "The Pick" (er, lack thereof :insane:) for this one.

    ULM - See McNeese comments.

:eek:lefire: - I hate this team so bad. Ole Miss replaces a quarterback. I've heard that their projected starter may need surjery and may not play this next year, so who knows. But they lost Dexter. McCluster WAS Ole Miss' team last year. Don't believe me? You're blind. Lost a good O-Lineman, too. Plus they will need a new OC, too. However, they still have Tyrone Nix, and he's a great DC. They'll be ready to play. But if the team loses momentum against Bama and plays flat against ULM, I see trouble on the horizon. Focus keeps this game from being lost.

Arkansas - Focus is a huge factor here too. By this time, if the team is on a roll, I think they steamroll R-Kansas. However, if the season hasn't panned out right, then I think that it depends on our defensive secondary. Mallet is a good qb who makes good reads. Still, I don't know enough about their D to make a "proper" judgement, though.

WVU is 4-1 against the SEC in the last 5 years, we're pretty used to the SEC style of ball so I don't think that's really going to be a factor. I will give you that Tiger Stadium will likely be something new, but for what it's worth we played at Auburn last year, didn't seem to bother the boys very much.

I think the fact that we've got a really unproven QB will be the scale tipper in your favor. But we tend to play OOC close when it's big programs.

but auburn wasnt very good. an avg lsu team thumped them and even the very good lsu teams rarely do that.

the good news for wv is that you have an open date after the game.

Completely agree, the whole season could spiral out of control with Tiger fans and the team if LSU loses the opener against UNC.

Most LSU fans are not that fickle. DIsappointed, maybe, but there will be no spiraling out of control except for the usual internet suspects. Opening on the road is never a picnic.
