I think if we can establish a good run game, get the push up front on the O-Line, get the ball to our playmakers (RS, TT, RR, MF) we will be competitive on Offense. On Defense, if these 2 new faces at the DE can come out and make a statement, and get some serious pressure on the QB's as well as help stuffing the run, we still have the leadership of Kelvin & Patrick back there supporting out LB's and DB's & preventing a meltdown in execution time, again we will be extremely competitive on D. Special Teams, One of the best units in SEC! Its on the coaches this year, the talent is out there, & the talent is GREAT! We just Need Miles & Staff to step up and utilize it. If JJ can’t read the plays from the sideline, HUDDLE UP! If Jarrett Lee really has stepped up, Bring Him out! A complete 180 is POSSIBLE Chavez, on his 2nd year, I expect a more stable & solid D that can force more 3 & outs, put more pressure in the backfield and hold between the 30's Bringing in Gonzales can be a huge difference in our playmaking ability. I think he is hard at work with our OC, QB's & WR's and will have some tricks up his sleeve this season using our speed and talent at WR/QB/RB. He will work hard with RS, JJ, TT, RR, etc. and our RB's for a similar style we saw at Florida a couple years ago with Percy Harvin, Demps, James, and Tebow. If you guys remember correctly Tebow won 2 National Titles and he didn’t do it entirely with his arm!! All I am saying, is its 4 very Long Months away, A lot can change and a lot can happen. Having said all that, if we lose the opener to NC and have an average season, I'd still be happy with a BIG WIN OVER BAMA, knocking them off their title chances!!
Being labeled as one of the top 10 offenses that could bore you in 2010 isn't going to help our cause. I seriously hope this team shocks everyone. http://www.tigerforums.com/lsu-news...all-offenses-could-bore-you-tears-2010-a.html
Unfortunately, there's no reason to disagree with that assessment. Pretty sad, considering all the speed and athleticism we have on offense. UNC made the list, too. Opening game ought to be a snoozer.
+1 When LSU is rolling we cant the trolls off our nuts, but a few re-building years and they speak of us as if we will never see a BCS Game again. Jeez.....
Would you really expect something else from a fan of another SEC school? Granted he also panned Tenn, but gave plenty of excuses for them while doing so. Bleacher report is entertaining but every article is slanted towards the writer's team, even the LSU writers. Our offense was really anemic last year. I get the impression Miles is aware of it. We will see if JJ's poor spring game and subsequent season has more in common with Mauck's and Flynn's, than with Lee's in 2008.
Actually no, but considering all of the negative press we have been receiving regarding our NFL players, this just adds 1 more notch to that negative belt. But one could take the approach of it doesn't matter if it is positive or negative press, at least they are talking about you. If they are talking about you means you are relevant.
Well, I just read the same Kansas City article either reprinted or quoted a few times. I suppose the pinheads broadcasting the draft may have talked about it but I didn't watch enough to see. Gul-BLEW actually seemed to downplay this and defend the LSU players even though he kept an inflammatory title. I see this as a blip. Players have gone to the NFL under Miles and credit can be given to Saban if it makes some people feel better. Not you in particular, but there certainly are some fans here. It will be funny to watch what is said about players like PP, TT, Randle, etc. I guess they will just be the "talented" exceptions that overcome that horrible decline that Miles has brought with him... Where is all the talk of Lavalais,Justin Vincent, Shyrone Carey, Spears, Skyler Green, and so on and so on? Plenty of players were drafted/signed under Miles and Saban. Some have made it and some have not. We have just had an embarrassment of riches so far, and might be taking some it for granted. I see plenty of busts coming out of other schools too. Probably forgotten within another week.
UNC will be a tight game due to the fact that they are loaded defensively. One publication has 5 UNC defenders being drafted in the first round next year. Otherwise list looks about right.
