I sure hate to see chris tolliver of rayville go to alabama... ugh... I mean if we don't accept him thats probably where he ends up.. Does he have good grades> I thought he was the best overall player in the state - according to Scout.... Possibly...
Neither one is doing much this year as true sophmores. Jared Mitchell has shown some promise. Benton is our only WR that I see being an immediate impact guy in this class... Toliver really impressed me with his down field blocking against Auburn - his (lack of) weight didn't seem to affect him at all. That was really my only concern about him. Now he just has to learn the playbook. He'll be amazing next year. Could, but won't. Corbin! Plus, Dickson is only a true sophmore.
Branch may be a TE his first year, but he will be an OT before he leaves LSU. It's not over with Edwards. He could still very well be a Tiger.
#1 on the list is probably EJ Manuel, who is a Florida St. commitment. #2 on the list is probably DC Jefferson, who is a Rutgers commitment. #3 on the list is probably Jordan Jefferson, who is uncommitted but who would probably commit to LSU on the spot if we offered him. There may be one or two others sprinkled in there somewhere that we don't know about.
Crist is probably #1 or #2. Unfortunately, both he & EJ are still sold on their schools of choice regardless of how terrible they are. EJ was recruiting Surrency for Florida St all weekend. Also, things look good for LSU with DC, but he's very likely a JUCO & I can't see us getting a JUCO QB down the road so I don't see the point here. My guess is we take both DC & Jordan. I don't know of any other QBs out there that we're after.
Do you really thing we take a QB? We have Ryan for two more years. Then we have Lee. We could get a better QB next year than we could this year.
