Sonny says there could be anywhere from 8-10 scholarships left. He also said that one of our current commits could possibly deflect by signing day. With the way things are going, I can't even guess at how this class is going to finish up. BUT, I do feel very good about it being one hell of an ending that will make Tiger fans happy & should definitely put us in the top 10. As for how I'd like the class to end, here's my list (fairly realistic, but definitely optimistic). EJ Manuel Patrick Johnson Deangelo Benton Karnell Hatcher DeAndre Brown Chase Clement Chris Tolliver Antoine McClain Moses McCray Tyler Edwards No Darrell Scott, Julio Jones or Arthur Brown because I do not believe we realistically have a shot at them.
I don't think it's realistic that we get all of them, but on an individual basis I believe we have a realistic shot with each.
I don't think we're out of it. We've stayed in communication with him & he has apparently been open to talking with us. He may be the biggest reach on my list, as I'd say it's pretty doubtful (but not completely far fetched) that we get him.
this is belated, but who cares. you're probably right when talking about out of state recruits, but also, those are your same sources so who cares? either way, you, dd, everyone on scout/rivals, etc. are all saying the same things. y'all are just one big circle of the same information. that said, you throw slights against dd quite often and i really wonder what your deal is. on in-state recruits he is generally ahead of sonny/mike (if you email him that is) and that's what comes from being a lhsaa official for 20+ years.
I don't care that Dandy may use Rivals/Scout as a source of info, but I always try to give credit to wherever I found information. I don't pretend to have "trusted sources". Any slights I have thrown against Dandy were not very harsh & definitely weren't frequent. I've stated my opinion on him a few times because he's often brought up as a source of info. I don't like that people think he has connections to inside info with LSU coaches or the athletics dep't because he doesn't. If people want to give him money for what he does, that's fine with me. I don't have anything against the guy.
I have't been reading Dandy for all that long, but I have read him pretty much daily for the last month or so. During this time, I haven't seen him state anything worth while. He predicts Early's return and it doesn't happen, predicts JUCO commits and it doesn't happen. Nearly every week he states "I expect LSU to pick up a big name recruit sometime in the next couple weeks". Sure, every once in a while he may be right, but in the same way that John Edwards (not the pres. candidate, byt the loser on television that talks to spirits) is able to communicate with my dead grandmother. I enjoy reading him for the entertainment factor, but I would never trust his "inside" information
I wonder which player may be a bit shakey on his commitment? I read somewhere(forgot where), that Ryan Baker might be looking elsewhere? I think we certainly have a good shot at each of the aforementioned players. Obviously less of a shot at Manuel, but you never know. Im sure one or two names wont sign, but we are liable to sign one or two that we werent expected to sign. Im really unsure with all the hoopla surrounding Johnson. I sure hope we do get him though. I wonder what our chances with Patchan are, since we made it to his final 3?
