    tanking the season?
its not like we get a high draft pick for that
but they can certainly be unmotivated.
    Mett should play until halftime.

    My thoughts as well.

Sorry my original post in this thread was not well thought out and not well worded! I tend to post before I think! Lol

Why?? Does Rivers suck or something?? Why shouldn't he be allowed to compete for the job without any preconceived notions?

I say, Mett First Quarter, Rivers Second Quarter, Jennings Third Quarter, then bring Mett back in to hand the ball off to RBs or take a knee on every down during the forth quarter.

Didn't rivers have a pretty high completion rate in the spring game?

No preconceived notions, I actually mistakenly thought he was a jr and next year was his last. I believe he'll compete for the job his senior year but he just seems more suited as a career backup to me.

Just my opinion, but if he was really that good he would have established himself as the backup but Jennings has asserted himself into that role as a freshman. Nothing against rivers but Jennings just seems to be the man and if not, we have plenty other big QB recruits ready to step up.

I wouldn't doubt it knowing what we know about our secondary now as opposed to last offseason

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a 2 headed qb next year, Jennings and Rivers. I think Les is longing for that more athletic guy behind center, but I also think Rivers' best can be brought out by Cam. So Jennings is eased in more like RP in 07.

Don't forget Rettig, who was a hot QB recruit that was redshirted. Or Bolden, the transfer from Penn State. New QB's are coming in. I think it will be a hot competition in the spring. Jennings will have to earn it again because he still has no substantial record.

One or two may transfer. Bolden can't afford another transfer, but Rivers or Rettig might if they thought they we're not being given a legitimate shot. End of spring will tell us a lot.

I don't see why we even consider playing a team like Furman this late into the season. Should have just took a bye week before the Ole Miss game... I bet there wont be no more than about 68,000 people at the game..

Got to have seven home games to pay the bills.
