Starting your post in the title is the most aggravating thing. Leave that for the other boards who don't use the nice features in vBulletin.

But he does have the drama of taking a vicious cheap shot and fighting through the injury to get back on the field. That's something voters can latch onto and it will make for a pretty good story on Heisman day.

You mean when he grew a new leg? Against AU? You're right. He did it against Bama, too...although that wasn't a cheap shot...just an accident. But anyone who grows a new leg and only misses a few plays while warming up the new leg...then does it again...deserves the Heisman.

Hey Maize and Blue...I agree that Hart COULD HAVE won the trophy...but he has two things against him.

#1-He doesn't have the ability to grow new legs like Dorsey, therefore missing some games.

    #2-You guys lost to terrible teams...like Appy St...and Oregon.:hihi:

Had to check and make sure I was in The Den. I thought the Heisman wasn't something ya'll were interested in an LSU player winning.

Dorsey will get plenty of award recognition at the end of the season but the Heisman will likely still got to an O player. Next year, it will be Tebow's to lose IMO.

I don't think anyone is under the actual impression that he will WIN it...just would like to see him in NYC looking smooooove. Let's face it though...it gets old having the actual best players in CFB yet getting no Heisman for it! :hihi:

I know what you're saying, though...as I have been one who has repeatedly stated that I don't care about individual awards...just team accomplishments. I still feel that way, but would find it fitting that we have a defensive tackle on the stage in NYC...surrounded by a bunch of pretty boy media darling QB's and RB's. Poor boys would probably just give Dorsey the Heisman for fear they might incur his wrath if they don't.

The Heisman is still a garbage award IMO for many reason but having a DT at the final ceremony would be huge for LSU Dline recruiting down the line.

We don't like the Heisman Award or AP #1 ranking; however, we do make exceptions when it's LSU players/team.

Unfortunately, the Heisman is almost an exclusive quarterback and runningback club. There have been only four defensive Heisman trophy winners, with only one in the last fifty years, with Charles Woodson winning it in 1997 (the only exclusively defensive player to win it). One of those winners was a combo player at halfback and safety, with the other two playing end (I assume on both sides).

The odds of Dorsey winning, unfortunately, are stacked against him no matter how good he is.
