yes.. all recruits that have signed a LOI have to be released by that school or sit out a year. I think they can transfer anywhere if released but not in the conference if not released. Is that true? Anyway hope we can keep them all & how about yesterday's game - Wow, would have won that one if we had a good point guard that could shoot some free throws.. Great Effort Tigers:geaux:
This is off the top of my head... but I am pretty sure a few years ago the NCAA passed a rule that allows students in situations like these to apply for a release without having to sit out a year.
If i am not mistaking the rule on sitting out applies to players that are already enrolled at the school and have actually played for the coach that has been fired or left. Not incoming players.
Did I not read that the guarterback from Michigan was told he did not fit the new coaches plans & he went to Arkansas & is sueing the NCAA so he won't have to sit out a year.. I did didn't I???
I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, hope LSU does not do that. That just make the university look like soar losers and makes LSU look really bad.
I dont think that LSU would hold anyone that didn't want to be there. Just wanted to make the point that it is LSU's choice. Also, noboby has mentioned it, but Mister Monroe never signed his LOI. He just gave a verbal if i remember correctly. Everyone is talking about losing a recruit. What do ya'll think the possibility is that perhaps we gain one?? Maybe Brady was the reason he didn't want to come here.
