Are you talking about Lamar Louis? I noticed they put him in towards the end of the game, and he made a couple of plays. Wouldn't take a whole lot to be an upgrade over Welter...
He made more plays at the line of scrimmage in 10 minutes than welter has all season. If he doesnt start over welter in the next game he should seriously consider transferring or changing his last name to Lee.
It doesn't matter what everybody else did.. If LSU would have finished with one loss and won the SEC they would have been in the BCS Championship game

Hate to break it to ya but Auburn would have to lose before the iron bowl to an SEC team, because if LSU wins out and Auburn beats Alabama too, 1 loss Auburn takes the west. They still control their own destiny.
