has the NC game been on ESPN all this time? I thought it had been on ABC or whatever locally. if so, this would explain the lower ratings. if not, i sure thought so.
It was on ESPN last year too... before that Fox had the contract except for the year the Rose Bowl hosted it (I think)... then it was on ABC, and when ESPN had the contract before Fox, it was on ABC.
The November game had ratings of 11.9... so this game just brought 1.9 more to watch. That's pretty sad.
I don't remember ESPN having it before. In the past, when it was an ESPN/ABC broadcast, the actual game was on ABC. I heard they wanted to show a new episode of "The Bachelor," instead. Now, I dvr'd that program and will watch it sans commercials tonight at home, but seriously? That's as bad as my husband receiving a "fantasy football" phone call from some loser on the East Coast @ kickoff and going to the office to talk to said loser for 30 minutes about fantasy football--@ a point when the BCSNCG was still a game. I told him if the bonehead called back, I was answering and telling him I'd revoked both of their man cards for talking fantasy football when the real thing was on.
Not last year... I remember because I had it on ABC and was wondering where the game was... then thinking ESPN made a dumb decision to put it on ESPN. ...and to the other poster: It's always been on Monday night.
Nonsense. The games has been played on Sundays, Fridays, Thursdays, Wednesdays, Tuesdays, and Mondays. Every day but Saturday. LSU's 2003 game was won on a Sunday night.
well clearly if its on cable its most likely going to have crappy ratings compared to fox. which is where I remember it being. so i guess that means fox did a better job. shouldnt this be noted in the article? Maybe it was . I didnt read the article. quite a few have been on monday night i believe.
