I hate it because I don't like not getting to play against their best.

But if Tebow plays, it will prove Meyer is not concerned with his well being.

Even if he is feeling fine, one solid hit to an already damaged head could end it for the kid.

It is stupid for them even to consider it.

On the other hand, he is one tough SOB on the football field, and you gotta respect that. But there comes a time that you just have to make a long term decision.

If Tebow plays with a limited (quick pass playbook) and cannot run effectively, they are beter off with the #2 QB. The coaches know that and I would assume they are working in practice for just that scenario. Tebow is great, but his threat of the run is what makes the offense work with him in it. It does not matter if he plays or not, either way the UF faithfull and the media will put an * by our win if we come out on top. It will either be "Tebow was not 100%, or Tebow was not playing".
I personally do not care and just want the win. Period.

But then if they come in here and lose without Tebow, there is an asterisk next to it.

If Tebow doesn't play and we beat Florida, be prepared for a lifetime's worth of excuses coming from everywhere...including the media on Florida's behalf.

and that is the kind of play that comes from his heart. unfortunately, that has no bearing on a rattled head and possible long term brain injury.

i would rather that, than one of our kids having to live with himself if something catastrophic happened. even clean and on the field of play, that is something that would mess up not just the hittee, but the hitter, for life.

If Tim was my son, he would not only sit out this game, he would not travel to BR.

And I'd be all over that 3rd, 4th and 5th opinion stuff before I even considered allowing him to go full contact EVER again.

To us, it's just a game. But it could affect the rest of his life. :geaux:

Oh I'm definitely not saying he should play just for the sake of LSU's reputation or whatever.

I actually like Tebow. I agree that he shouldn't play. No one game is bigger than anyone's career. There are no red jerseys on Saturday night. If he gets in there, someone is going to put the stick on him.

Rahim Alem would have to actually get to the QB for that to happen. :)

I could care less if Tim Tivo plays or not.
I could care less what anybody says or thinks.

I just want to beat Florida and Urban Cryer, the fact that they are ranked # 1 is just icing on the cake.
I hate to break this to some of you but if we do beat Florida I would think we would be the number 1 team in the country!
Not bad for the struggles we've had this year!:)

Tebow's parents will be heavily involved in the decision as to whether or not he plays. They are involved in many aspects of his life. Remember that off the field, the Tebow family is highly respected and in good financial standing. They will have the best neurologists working on this case for their son, and will have his best interest in mind. If it was my son, superman or not, I would have my faith in the doctors who will be doing daily visits to check on his progress.

You are messing with this guy's future, and despite all that is ugly amount Meyer, on some level, you've got to believe that he will not play Tebow without a clearance from the medical team. Further, Meyer firmly believes they have the talent to come into Death Valley and beat the snot out of us. With Tebow or without him, UF is a very good football team and will be prepared to play us.

Re: Tebow...on the bench or in the game
