Just got my reservation at the RV Park. Gotta love small towns. They don't take credit cards! Cash or check only I'm planning on getting there early afternoon. I'll be in spot A-2 for anybody who wants to stop by for a cold on and say hey.
OK, posts in here and the private convo lead me to believe this is becoming a BYOB event. Fine with me, but are we definitely set now on watching the game and eating at Kyle's RV?
OK, I have no idea how the slots are numbered, but I do know most of the park is wide open ground. But there is a small wooded area near a pavillion that has some shade. You may want to ask them if you can get in that area when you arrive.
I asked her to put me in a spot with shade near the course. She said this spot was the one. I was pleasantly surprised when she said it had a sewer hookup also. I thought they only had dump stations.
So, is there a finalized plan for food/meals on Saturday since the tee times are messed up? I can cook breakfast at the camper if y'all like (bring your own chair, I'm traveling light). I could also throw some ribs on my smoker to reheat and do some sides for later, but if we are going to a bar, that would be unnecessary. Hamburgers on the grill are really easy. What do y'all want to do? I can bring a big ice chest full of ice for all of y'all's beer and such.
I hate to suggest putting too much on @KyleK , but I don't know how much he really likes to cook. I know some guys who live for throwing a bunch of food on the grill. Obviously, if he's willing to cook we should all chip in some cash. If we go to the restaurant the drinking will be much more expensive and they'll relocate us later in the game because they have to set up for their night event. I have been told the bar will remain open, so we can sit there.
My vote is let's just kick it at the camper. I think we were always going to chip in to cover food cost so that isn't a big deal. I'm not a big rib guy but if that's what Kyle wants to do then I will be a rib guy on Saturday
If y'all want to do burgers and such, that is actually easier. Ribs are much more labor intensive. I can pick up pre-made patties at Sams. Buns, chips, potato salad, call it done. Anybody want hot dogs? Any other requests? I'll just pick everything up on the way and we can split the bill when we get there. Breakfast, I can do shrimp and grits with minimal effort. That with some fruit makes a pretty nice breakfast. If anyone wants eggs, we can kick that out pretty easily. I'll have a tv there for whatever game is on at the time. I'll also have a large ice chest full of ice. Bring your own chair and drinks.
