Played golf with a guy @10 years ago he was 88. We WALKED 18 holes. He didn't hit it very far but he could chip and putt like a pro, probably had 8 or 9 one putts.
Almost the same story. Few years ago we had a military reunion near Ft Hood. I stopped to pick up a buddy of mine and his dad got us on at some high dollar club there in the DFW area. We played with this old timer, probably in his 80s but he whupped our asses. Buddy and I were shooting at tree rats 270 yds deep and 10 yds into the woods while pops was long iron, short iron and precision of a surgeon with the flat stick. That cat never left the center of the fairway.
My mom gave my sister, my brother and myself her f'd up back. As such, I was never able to hit far without really messing up my back. While my buds hit it far, I was like your old timer...short, but straight down the middle. The majority of my practice (like 90%) was from 100 yards and in. I typically always beat them.
I'v backed off on my swing a lot. I hit the fairway much more now. However, I am fucking TURRIBLE inside of 60 yards.
The Nassau is three separate matches for $10 each. $10 for the front 9, $10 for the back 9, and $10 for the overall match. A press is an additional $10 bet if you fall two down at any point in a match. I don't know what the trash bet is.
I have a stock response for anyone who pushes me to bet on golf. I throw my wallet on the ground and go home.
