Man I really wanted to see this guy on the field for us. He is a physically imposing guy and I think he'll become a great pass-rushing DT/DE hybrid, for whoever he plays for.

Can't say I blame him though and hold nothing against him. Mental health and happiness are more important than football.

Yeah, he said he wanted to be "home" but BR is just as far away from his home (Mobile, AL) as Tuscaloosa. Maybe he just wanted to be around more friends/family. Whatever the case, I wish him and his father nothing but the very best.

I expect Corley will either end up at South Alabama if he really needs to be close to home, or he will walk on at Bama and sit out this year. I don't think Bama has room for him otherwise.

I wasn't surprised at Phelon Jones transferring to Bama. He was stuck behind a logjam here while Bama returns only four starters and needs depth on an offense with question marks. But if Corley couldn't get into the rotation at LSU, I don't see him doing any better trying to break into Bama's fine defense. Is Nick going to grayshirt one of his fine recent recruits to make room for Corley under the 85? I just don't see it.

Good! I still don't think we should release players to annual opponents.

At least he's not going to Bama. I wish him well, but I'm happy he won't be playing against us in conference.

I sort of agree, but given what happened to his mother, its obvious it took a lot out of the kids psyche. Maybe his Dad is ripped and he feels he needs to be closer to his Dad (and that would be appropriate now).

If Miles gave him his freedom, putting the man's interests ahead of petty football issues at a time like this, I say hat's off to The Hat!!! That's more class than 95% of the other coaches out there. Our kids would have to feel good playing for a coach like Miles, and that should make them play harder. I think it helps with recruiting. Sidell will talk about his treatment by Miles, and the better it is, the better an elite recruit will feel about putting his future in the hands of a fair man, Les Miles.

I think the positives would have outweighed the negatives on that one. :milesmic:
