I'd like to get to order the Championship Package but it looks like I'd have to order a new subscription to SI. Well, I'm already a subscriber, so does anyone know how I can get this without getting a new subscription (there's no point in getting two subscriptions).
I have this same problem. My subscription runs out in March, though. I'm considering calling them to ask, but it looks like the best option would be to call and cancel the one you have now and then sign up for the new package. I'd call them before you do anything. Also, I don't like that for the package they have the thing that automatically renews your subscription and then you have to pay it. I'd like to know when my subscription runs out and renew it myself.
The advertisement I saw was for $19.?? for the book and CD or if you get a subscription you get both of those plus a T shirt. I can get my own T shirt, it was advertised during the GB/Seattle game today.
In the past the book for whoever is National Champion has shown up for sale at places like Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million later on. (I remember seeing other teams' books there on the sale table.) My suggestion is not to panic and pay $89 for it, including a renewing subscription, a t-shirt you can get elsewhere, and a CD you can also get elsewhere, because it will be available on Ebay or through Alibris.com or Abebooks.com pretty soon.
Call them and ask if you can simply EXTEND your current subscription by one year? I saw an advertisement in my SI where you could purchase the commemorative book without the subscription. That's what I did.
