Carver High School did produce Marshall Faulk -- who went to San Diego State because every major program that recruited him wanted him as a CB, and he wanted to go to a school who wanted him as an RB. In 2002, even his old high school coach claimed that ''Had he stuck with cornerback, he would have been the No. 1 pick in '94 instead of No. 2.'' (click on quote for link to article)

In the last 15 years, the only LSU recruits to come out of Carver are OT Dwayne Pierce, LB Brandon Matthews, and DE Arnold Miller, all in the late 90's.

You could say it is in the upper Ninth Ward (according to wikipedia). It's located right south of 1-10 and right west of the Industrial Canal, several blocks away from the Desire Projects. Definitely a rough part of town (according to that article I cited in my post above). And yes, I had to look all that up, but I was curious to know where in New Orleans Marshall Faulk's high school was -- and where Carey is now the head coach (which is great to hear, Carey was a great addition to our stable of RBs during his time at LSU).

I played against him in HS in the 1st round of the playoffs. Cant remember what year maybe '99. He was a QB who could run sideline to sideline, up and down and back and forth. Tough to get the bugger.

    CHS prevailed though 35-0.
