Had JJ been available from game one we wouldn't have played in the NC. Les Miles has put together a strong team, the chief has put together one of the all time great defenses, but unequivocally play JJ goes in Miles portfolio of dipsht decisions. He has so many.

I know he isn't going anywhere, and there are things he does well, but I'm way less enamored with Miles than the regular fan. His net negatives weigh heavily on me.

Getting to this game was awesome, but this was one of the most embarassing games in the history of college football IMO, definitely in the history of LSU football. Had Miles shown a semblance of intellegence in handling QB, I'd be able to give Bama more credit. But like I've said before, since Perilloux our QB handling has been down right crap. I remember the late 80s/early 90s, which were worse overall, but this game is a national scandle. LSU was not well represented by that offensive performance (it was a f-in joke).

You know, what happened last night doesn't even seem real. How could we have pissed away a chance at the greatest season in college football with such an epic offensive meltdown? It was complete bush league and showed our offensive coaches to be consumately unprofessional. How the F do you let that happen?

There is NO defending (barring discipline, and it would have to be serious discipline) not trying Lee, the same as there is NO defending the way Lee was handled at the end of the season, the same as there is NO defending the way QBs were handled from Perilloux to this date.

Les Miles just lost a ton of my respect because I KNOW we wouldn't have been in the NC game had JJ been eligible to start the season. Wow. I've been on the fence with Miles for a long time - I expect that to continue.

And if you aren't upset about this performance, well "got dang"! Life must be one long drawn out monotony for you. That's complacency, and it is far worse than vitrol after a performance like that.

I hate to say it, but I think Lee would have been hammered as bad as Jefferson and our running backs were.

It really was a bad coaching effort. Bad game plan....bad play calling....complete lack of adjustments...questionable personnel decisions...the team was mentally unprepared...

...but despite that, we just flat out got beat. I don't think Lee would have changed anything.

I have to agree. I'm not sure lee throwing off his back foot would have made a whole lot of difference, but I would have at least gave him a shot. Any spark may have made a difference in our offensive output.

You know, the further in we got with JJ the less Lee would have been able to help. Hell, Lee may not have been able to do a thing. But with a QB playing so pour, you play the next guy (4 year senior, lead us to wins early in the season) for a spark. Even just to give the "starter" a chance to calm himself and see things from the sideline and talk to the coaches.

I feel like QB was definitely a failure last night, a disappointment from JJs return, questionable all season (Miles was forced to play Lee early, so I don't give him any credit for those wins in regards of making the right QB decision), and mismanaged from the Perilloux boo-boo.

Les likes running QBs, I'm concerned that Mett might feel pressure from the young running QB we have on the roster (heard he might go to defense, PLEASE go to defense) in the future.

I guess we'll never know what Lee would have done. We can only speculate. He is a classy guy. First class and i appreciate him putting up with us. Before the game i said i wish somehow Lee would get a chance to come in and redeem himself and be a hero. I thought i would get my wish. No such luck. Thanks Jarrett and best of luck to you.

You are right on one thing...
We will never see a 13-1 team play this badly again offensively in a CG.

You are wrong, LSU will go undefeated next year and be in the CG.
It will once again be up to the head coach to win or lose that game.

The play calling was so vanilla. No reverses, or misdirection to take advantage of Bama aggressiveness. Esp. when they were putting some many in the box b/c they didn't fear anything down the field. I felt some speed sweeps to Shepard would've been worth trying. It was option, run up the gut, wide receiver screen, slant pass over and over and over. Why not invite the d-line up field, get some lineman in space and do some screens? At least try something different. This was a HORRENDOUS job of play calling, coaching and certainly exection. It was embarrassing.

He might have been but when your QB is Jordan Jefferson, it doesn't really matter. Reuben Randle has every right to be pissed right now. He is our most talented offensive skill player yet he rarely got utilized. It just makes me so mad that Jefferson gets so much leeway even though he had a flat out AWFUL year last year.
