So a buddy of mine threw this one out at the Hooter's table the other night ... And I only bring it up for the sake of discussion, not that this is something that would be a remote possibility. Let's say the Tigers come out as expected (by the smart people in the room), beat the Razorbacks and roll into the SEC Championship game with a solid #1 ranking and the inside track to the BCS Championship. Bama wins and holds on to their #2 ranking. Now the Tide is just sitting on the couch waiting for their invitation. Do you then take a knee for the SEC Championship game because you really shouldn't need to take the extra exposure and you have the #1 ranking? You can't leapfrog Bama over the Tigers because they didn't win their division, the conference, or the head to head match up. Georgia has a worse record, not like they'll jump up in there. Really no other candidates that you can place ahead of Bama and LSU. So the bottom line is you really don't need to play the game. Or Do you play your 3rd string for the game? I really love College Football. :geauxtige
No. The players want this game also. You play the game just as you've played every other game. Then you go kick Bama's ass and start taking a knee with 8:00 left in the 4th quarter because your up by 3 touchdowns and have confidence in your D to keep them out of the end zone!
No Way! Being SEC Champions is just about everything. Besides we owe Georgia an SECCG whipping from 2005.
Take a knee Yes take a knee after the trip to New orleans (Nawlings ) after the win , and give thanks , for being able to make the trip.
Your buddy don't know this ... LSU football has four goals every year 1. Every player attends his classes, does well and passes well 2. Win the SEC West Division Title --------------> Today vs Hogs Note: The tie with an Ole Miss win isn't good enough 3. Win the SEC Title in Georgia Dome 4. Win the BCS National Title wherever it is ... but especially if it's in NOLA Note 1: NOLA Superdome = Tiger Stadium South Note 2: Georgia Dome = Tiger Stadium East
